2023 wedding dress inspiration for celebrity brides-to-be
People in this article

It would seem that 2022 was a very busy year for celebrity couples getting engaged. Olly Murs and girlfriend Amelia Tank were just one of many well-known couples who got engaged last year and they are planning a wedding in June of this year.
Another celebrity couple set to wed are Lioness and I’m A Celebrity Winner Jill Scott and Shelly Unitt who announced their engagement last March.

I used to edit a national bridal magazine, so I know from experience that the first thing that many brides-to-be think about is the all important dress.
What I would stress is important is not to have a prefixed idea in your head about a particular style of wedding dress. There is no point in arriving at a bridal boutique with thoughts such as “I only want to wear a fishtail style,” or “Lace doesn’t suit me,” running through your head.
I can’t tell you the amount of times wedding dress designers and bridal boutique consultants have told me that their brides have walked out of their boutiques with a completely different style of dress to the one they originally thought they would choose!
Now, the moment you have been waiting for, the wedding dresses. I hope you find your dream one amongst the ones I have picked out for you.

Vivienne Westwood, available at The Wedding Club

Hide AdIt seems only fitting with the recent passing of Dame Vivienne Westwood that I start with one of her bridal dresses as inspiration for you. This corset style ‘Camille’ dress is very Vivienne and was first seen in their Autumn/Winter 1987/99 ‘Harris Tweed’ collection. Team it with a string of pearls around your neck and you will get the perfect mix of contemporary with classic.
‘The Amal’ dress, designed by Wilden London
If you love keeping one step ahead of the fashion pack, you will be keen to know that bows are big news in bridal for 2023. This beautiful ‘Amal’ dress by Wilden London, has a classic fishtail silhouette, and will appeal to those of you who are looking for a chic style. I think it works perfectly for a spring or summer wedding.

‘The Petal’ dress with overskirt by Blackburn Bridal Couture
The ‘Petal’ gown is designed by Russell Blackburn, owner of Blackburn Bridal Couture, a fabulous bridal boutique in South East London. I personally know Russell from many years ago when I was Editor of Cosmopolitan Bride and he was Head of Fashion Advertising. I guarantee if you make an appointment at his boutique, you will not be disappointed!

The ‘Naia’ dress by Julita London
If you are looking for a dress with the ‘wow factor,’ then I would definitely suggest you think about the ‘Naia’ dress by Julita London. The semi-transparent column gown is intricately embellished and is handmade from layered beaded lace. I think it would work perfectly for a city wedding.
