Angelina Jolie launches sustainable fashion brand Atelier Jolie, we look back at the upcycled looks

Angelina Jolie has become just as well known for her humanitarian work as she is a world famous actress. If anyone was going to launch a sustainable and ethical fashion business it was going to be her. 

The Eternals actress has launched a new business venture in the world of fashion and under the name ‘Atelier Jolie’. In a statement on her official Instagram account Angelina wrote “I’m starting something new today - a collective where everyone can create.

“Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world.”

“It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression. I’m looking forward to growing this with you.”

The sustainable fashion collection hopes to “bring together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, underappreciated groups.” No exact release date has been given but according to the brands Instagram profile it’s ‘coming Fall 2023’. 

The United Nations goodwill ambassador has happily opened her closet to her children. Angelina shares six children; Maddox Jolie-Pitt, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Jolie Pitt, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, and Knox Jolie Pitt with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. 

The Tomb Raider actress told E News that she loves giving her kids her hand me downs, she said “I'm like, ‘Oh my God, wear it and wear it better than me! Take it, it's your turn.” 

At the LA film premiere for Marvel’s Eternals in 2021 it was clear to see that her children look great in her outfits. Eldest daughter Zahara wore a long sleeved beaded Ellie Sabb gown previously worn by her mother at the Oscars in 2014. Shiloh opted to upcycle her mother’s beige Gabriela Hearst dress that she wore to speak at the ‘Women for Bees’ event. 

Shiloh appeared to have raided her mother’s wardrobe for the London premiere of Eternals as she was spotted wearing a shorter version of the black and white Dior dress Angelina previously wore to the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil press conference in 2019. 

The Sustainable and ethical fashion market has increased of the past few years with many people turning their backs on fast fashion brands and even choosing to rent outfits.

Angelina is definitely leading by example as well the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and Cate Blanchett are just a few of the celebrities that are saving the planet by wearing outfits over and over again.
