Bill Nighy completely squashes rumours he's dating Anna Wintour, a look at her relationship timeline

It was the red carpet relationship debut we were are wanting Anna Wintour walking with her rumoured boyfriend actor Bill Nighy. But just when everyone was getting excited by the news Bill's rep completely squashed the rumours.

Today reported a representative for Bill released a statement that said "Bill and Anna have simply been great friends for two decades" and confirmed "They are not in a relationship."

The Met Gala is always full of fashion outfits and celebrity couples that we just can’t keep our eyes off. And this year's event was no different. The Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour walked the red carpet arm in arm with her rumoured beau actor Bill Nighy. 

It was the first time the couple have walked the red carpet together making their relationship 'official' or so we thought. 

Anna wore a a patterned coat worn over a floor-length silver skirt with Bill looking dapper in navy blue suit.

Anna has been rumoured to be dating Bill since they were first pictured together on a romantic dinner date in Italy in August 2021. The couple who have known each other for over two decades fuelled rumours a few months later when the editor hosted the screening of Bill's film ‘Living’ in New York City.

The BAFTA award winning actor is best known for his roles in Love Actually, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter.

Dame Anna married first husband New York psychiatrist David Shaffer in 1984. The exes share two children, son Charles Shaffer and daughter Katherine ‘Bee’ Shaffer. Their marriage lasted for 15 years and the couple divorced in 1999. 

The Vogue editor was also married to business executive Shelby Bryan. The former couple were married for over 16 years but by the time they split in 2020 a source told Page Six reported it had been “quite a while since they’ve been seen together.”

Anna at one point was rumoured to be dating the late Bob Marley. But in a game of ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ with James Corden on his Late Late show, Anna revealed it was completely “Fake news” and she’d actually never even met the reggae singer. 

She did jokingly add that if she had met them she would have “absolutely” slept with him.

Anna has an estimated net worth of $50 million. She first took the helm for Vogue magazine in 1988. The editor earns $2 million per year for being the editor-in-chief plus a reported $200,000 workwear allowance and earnings as Condé Nast artistic director.

In 2012 Forbes magazine named her the most powerful woman in media and in 2019 they named her the 39th most powerful woman in the world.

The journalist lives in a four-story townhouse in Greenwich Village, New York that she purchased for a reported $350,000.
