I like to think that when it comes to fashion and style I have my finger on the pulse, but I have to admit that I never would’ve predicted that the ‘quiet luxury’ trend would have infiltrated Coachella Festival

The first weekend of the festival saw Kendall Jenner rocking a low-key black tank top and black trousers from luxury Australian brand St Agni, sandals from The Row and a vintage shoulder bag by Fendi. Nothing about this outfit screams ‘Coachella vibes’ in fact it’s the complete opposite which is ‘quiet luxury’ and the style everyone will be wearing this summer.

Quiet luxury is described as clothing of the highest quality, but also timeless and free from garish designer logos. Wearing logos has been seen by the fashion world as trashy over the past decade and now thanks to hit HBO series Succession showing off your designer brands is ‘ludicrously capacious.’

The Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley have been wearing and designing this style for their luxury brand The Row for years.

When you think of Coachella outfits images of white floaty boho dresses, silver sequin crop tops and camel fringed waistcoats instantly fill our minds. And rightly so over the years Coachella fashion has been dominated by ‘boho chic’ and ‘risky avant-garde’ outfits - a case of the more out there the better.

So it came as quite the surprise when Kendall was wearing a seemingly boring outfit but that’s exactly what made it stand out in a sea of glitter. She wasn’t the only celeb at the music event to opt for an effortlessly undone outfit.

Queen of ‘off duty model’ Hailey Bieber was spotted in the crowds - comforting hubby Justin Bieber - wearing a white vest top, baggy jeans, signature bomber jacket and baseball cap. A sharp contrast to her usual denim shorts and bikini top she has worn in previous years.

Model turned actress Suki Waterhouse also opted for a denim ensemble with striped blue shirt as she attended the Revolve party. as

Don’t worry though if you are someone that likes to be different and still want to turn up wearing something a bit ‘out-there’ because as well as ‘quiet luxury’ being a huge trend at this year's event so was the metal breast plate.

The unusual item has been seen on the red carpet with both Zendaya when she attended The 25th Annual Critics' Choice Awards in 2020 and Ellie Goulding at when she presented an award with Tom Grennan at The Brit Awards 2023.

But it was US influencers Lele Pons and Hannah Stocking that took the fashion piece to a new level after they were seen wearing a ‘melted’ breast plate.

Which apparently is going to be a ‘Hot’ new trend at festivals. So if you're an introvert and love the quiet luxury style or full on extrovert with a "melty" breast plate either way you will fit in perfectly at Coachella this weekend.
