Thanks to TikTok, fashion and beauty trends described as food including 'Banana Milk', ‘Tomato Girl’ and 'Glazed doughnut nails' have taken over our social media feeds. And it seems no food - or in this case - beverage is safe from being turned into a viral sensation. Even Ed Sheeran has gotten involved in the coffee trend revival, teaming up with Starbucks in the advent of the Pumpkin Spice Latte season.

At PeopleWolrd we are huge fans of coffee whether it’s a double espresso, caramel macchiato or single-shot skinny latte, with sugar-free vanilla. However, we didn't think that our coffee orders would become a source of fashion and beauty inspiration.

As Summer fades away and the Autumn season is upon us fashionistas have turned their attention to coffee. Yes, that’s right the ‘hot’ (no pun intended) new colour trend for the season is ‘Cortado coffee’.

The coffee consists of equal amounts of espresso and warm milk - the milk sits on top of the darker espresso colour. Which according to Vogue is exactly how you should style the trend. The ‘Cortado Rule’ is to wear the darker espresso shades on the bottom and lighter milky tones on top.

The trend is surprisingly easy to wear, just like the 'Banana Milk' trend the Cortado coffee colour fits into the neutral family. TV presenter Rochelle Humes showed us just how easy it is to wear when she paired a cream waistcoat with an espresso-coloured slip skirt to host This Morning.

Autumn/Winter 2023 runway shows from The Row, Saint Laurent and Miu Miu all showcased the warm coffee shades so you just know it will be everywhere this season.

Plus you only need to look at Kim Kardashian's Skims range to know she is a fan of coffee tones. As well as sister Khloe Kardashian who wore a bronzed LaQuan Smith dress CFDA Fashion Awards and model Gigi Hadid who wore a Zac Posen dress to the Cannes Film Festival.

And it doesn’t just stop at fashion, beauty lovers have been showcasing the ‘Latte Makeup’ trend worn by Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski. Coffee colours have been used to describe hair colours for many years such as ‘espresso brunette,’ ‘mocha brown’ and ‘Cappuccino’ but this seems to be the first time a makeup trend has used the coffee reference.

The term ‘Latte Makeup’ was first coined by TikTok influencer Rachel Rigler who describes the makeup look as “warm and bronzy, milky and effortless.” It’s all about keeping your base natural looking with minimal coverage foundation. Focusing on warmer brunette tones for eyes and cheeks to give you a glowing complexion.

Hailey Bieber recently treated her bob hairstyle to a new season hair colour as she opted for ‘Cinnamon Cookie butter’ which again proves warmer shades are in and you can literally find fashion and beauty inspo from anywhere.
