Halle Bailey stuns at The Little Mermaid premiere a look at celebrities who dress as their characters

Halle Bailey did not disappoint at the Los Angeles film premiere for The Little Mermaid as she fully embraced her character 'Ariel' and the Mermaidcore fashion trend. The actress looked stunning in a shimmering metallic dress custom designed by Valdrin Sahiti that featured shell-inspired bustier and fishtail. The dress completely encapsulated the magic of the classic 1989 Disney film that has now been made into a live action remake.

Halle isn't the only actress to embrace their characters style. Celebrities make characters come to life on screen but some continue to channel their role in real life after the film or TV show wraps, taking method acting to another level.

Margot Robbie

This dedication to the character is most recently evident from Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling who decked out in pink outfits on the red carpet at CinemaCon, paying homage to the plastic and fantastic Barbie and Ken.

Channelling Barbie-core, Ryan donned a bright pink jacket with a Greta Gerwig t-shirt underneath while co-star Margot personified the Mattel doll once more looking effortless in a Prada checked co-ord and slip on pink kitten heels.

They joined director Greta Gerwig and fellow Barbie actress America Ferrera in Las Vegas to show a teaser for their upcoming film which also stars the likes of Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey and Kate McKinnon.

Looking like the spitting image of the lead female role in the video game turned movie, Anya Taylor Joy translated Peach from 2D to 3D.

Zendaya

Zendaya constantly turns heads on red carpets as she often hits the mark with her fashion choices, namely when she wore two dresses to the NAACP Awards, and it was no different for the Spider-Man No Way Home premiere.

The Euphoria actress wore a stunning Valentino dress and mask combo that emulated the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

Zoe Kravitz

Feeling feline and fabulous, Zoe Kravitz paid tribute to her role as Catwoman from the latest Batman movie with Robert Pattinson.

Zoe wore a custom Oscar De La Renta gown to the New York premiere with a laced-up bodice and cat silhouette neckline while her hair remained slicked back.

Lily James

You shall go to the premiere! Inspired by the Disney Princess, Lily James flashed a pair of lace glass slippers on the red carpet for the live action Cinderella movie.

However, unlike 'Cinderelly', Lily James did not have to rush home by midnight but instead enjoy the success of the Disney film.
