Here’s my favourite spring/summer 2026 fashion trends to shop for via the high street

From florals to emerald green, I’ve spotted the must-have fashion items you need in your wardrobe.
The late great fashion designer Valentino Garavani once said “Only wear clothes that make you feel alive,” and I couldn’t agree more with his statement. I also don’t adhere to those who think fashion and make-up is frivolous and I think this sentiment often comes from individuals who have a lack of understanding or have never embraced not only what clothes and accessories can make one feel but how they can create a lasting impression.
When Valentino passed away, Gwyneth Paltrow said: "I was so lucky to know and love Valentino - to know the real man, in private.
"The man who was in love with beauty, his family, his muses, his friends. His dogs, his gardens, and a good Hollywood story.
"I loved him so much. I loved how he always pestered me to "at least wear a little mascara" when I came to dinner. I loved his naughty laugh.”
I have always adored fashion and rather slavishly follow trends, I tend to choose the ones I love and I know I will wear them again and again for many years. When it comes to spring/summer 2026 fashion trends, I know without question which one is my favourite.

Anyone who knows me will know that florals feature in my wardrobe every year, no matter if they are fashionable or not. However, I am very pleased that florals are definitely back in vogue for spring/summer 2026. One of my favourite items on the high street has to be this Monsoon Talia Tulip Embroidered Scallop Collar top, £65.
There are many reasons why I love it, I am a sucker for a scallop collar, I also adore tulips and I know that this is a top that I can wear with blue jeans, white jeans or even a smarter pair of trousers. I would dress it down in the day with trainers and possibly wear boots with a heel in the evening or even slingbacks for night time.
Although I know the Pantone Colour of the Year is Cloud Dancer which has been described as a "lofty" and serene off-white shade, I won’t be embracing it as I love vibrant shades. This spring/summer 2026 emerald green is huge news and I think this Next Emerald Green Textured Satin Halter Sleeveless Midi Dress, £55, is so chic and can work equally well in winter now with a faux fur jacket or when the hopefully warmer days start arriving in spring.
Another colour that is big for spring/summer 2026 is red which I know for some is a bold statement, but I think when worn right, it can look fabulous. I adore this LAAGAM cupido bomber jacket in red, £155 (was £200), Asos. A simple white t-shirt, jeans/trousers and trainers is all you need to complete the look.
