Met Gala 2023: Hollywood couples who made their relationship debut on the red carpet

The Met Gala is the biggest fashion event of the year so forget making a relationship ‘Instagram official’, these Hollywood stars are making their relationship ‘Met Gala official’. OK, it doesn't quite have the same ring to it but nonetheless, these are the couples who made their debut on the red carpet. 

Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler 

Dating rumours swirled a month after Kaia had split from actor Jacob Elordi. After dodging these rumours for months the pair posed together for pictures as they made their relationship official at the Met Gala 2022.  

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott 

Kylie nearly broke the internet when she and rapper Travis revealed they had welcomed daughter Stormi to the world. So it was only fitting that the new parents treated themselves to a date night at the Met Gala and made their debut as a couple in 2018. The pair sadly called it quits in 2023 so we wonder if Kylie will be bringing a new plus one along? 

Camilla Cabello & Shawn Mendes 

After collaborating on the song Señorita together, Shawn and Camilla were swarmed by romance rumours. After denying they were a couple for a while they decided to make their relationship official at the Met Gala 2021. Sadly the couple split but after being spotted at this year's Coachella festival kissing, they could make their relationship official on the red carpet. 

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas 

Priyanka and Nick were reportedly just getting to know each other when they walked the red carpet together in 2017. The singer and actress were both dressed in Ralph Lauren and guests at his table. Since then the couple have got married and welcomed a baby girl, Malti in 2022.  

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd

Singers Selena and The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - made their couples debut at the 2017. The pair packed on the PDA whilst walking the red carpet but it may have been because his ex Bella Hadid was also attending the event wearing that Bodysuit. The couple only dated for a short while after the Met and Selena has recently been linked to One Direction star Zayn Malik. 

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik 

Speaking of Zayn he made his one and only appearance at the Met Gala 2016 alongside then girlfriend model Gigi Hadid. The couple dated for a few years and welcomed a daughter in 2020 but after reports Zayn fell out with the model's mum Yolanda Hadid the couple split in 2021 but continue to co-parent their daughter. Could this be the year Zayn returns the fashion event with a new woman on his arm?
