As the Met Gala 2023 gets underway, we take a look at what the night's co-charis including Penélope Cruz are wearing

The Met Gala is here! 2023's instalment of the biggest night is upon us in fashion and all the talk is Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.

The former creative director of the luxury fashion house is being honoured at the event taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

This year’s theme is ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A line of beauty’ and many outfits are clearly paying homage to the influential designer.

Penélope Cruz arrived early at the Met Gala wearing one of this fashion season's most popular trends' the hood.

The actress' white look was certainly eye-catching and she wasn't the only one to pick the colour.

Singer Dua Lipa also stepped out in white wearing a dress she was "lucky" to get her hands on.

On the red carpet, she wore a white classic Chanel bridal gown, with a stunning previously unseen Chanel necklace.

The British screenwriter and actress accessorised her look with some prominent gold earrings.

Arriving with his wife Mirka, former tennis star Roger Federer looked dapper as he kept it classy in a black tuxedo at the Met Gala.

His wife wore a semi-sheer pink gown with featured detail and a bow at the waist.
