Paco Rabanne was a legendary name, both in the world of fashion and perfume, and was as an iconic a designer as Karl Largerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent.
Jose Manuel Albesa, the fashion president of Puig, the parent company of his brands, spoke about his lasting influence and legacy in a statement about the designer. "Who else could induce fashionable Parisian women to clamour for dresses made of plastic and metal," he said. "That radical, rebellious spirt set him apart: There is only one Rabanne."

Hide AdI love these words: "That radical, rebellious spirit set him apart," as without question in order to both survive and succeed in fashion it is important to be both radical and rebellious. His dresses ‘made of plastic and metal’ have become synonymous with the designer and have been worn by the likes of Sienna Miller and Sophie Turner on the red carpet.
It is not only modern day stars who have been captivated by the designs of Paco Rabbane, now headed up by Creative Director, Julien Dossena. Paco Rabbane was responsible for the iconic dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in the film Two For The Road, which was filmed in the South of France.
According to Vogue, summer is the perfect time to opt for excess when it comes to fashion. "Nothing personifies this more than the swinging Paco Rabanne dress that has since gone on to be synonyms with the decades and Audrey’s lasting sartorial influence."
Paco Rabanne was also responsible for creating Jane Fonda’s incredible outfit in the 1968 sci-fi fantasy, ‘Barbarella’ and also made dresses for the likes of French stars Francoise Hardy and Brigitte Bardot.

Despite this, the Digital Journal go on to say that "his influence nonetheless carried through many generations and he famously dressed global superstar Lady Gaga in outfits made entirely of paper for her 2011 appearance at the MTV Europe Music Awards."
For Lady Gaga’s 2011 appearance at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Lady Gaga received five awards and wore five looks, all famously created by Paco Rabanne.
