Statement wedding dresses inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker's 'Sex and the City’ gown

My obsession with ‘Sex and the City’ and Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw goes long back. I adored everything about her eclectic wardrobe and let's not forget her infamous shoe collection.

When I spotted Sarah Jessica Parker filming ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 wearing Carrie Bradshaw’s incredible Vivienne Westwood wedding dress, it immediately made me think it is the perfect statement wedding dress as it is just so iconic.

It is hard to believe that it was in 2008 that ‘Mr Big’ broke all our hearts (including mine) when he left Carrie originally at the altar. How could he have left her when she was wearing THAT dress? However, enough about ‘Mr Big.’

The Vivienne Westwood dress that Carrie Bradshaw originally wore (before she eventually married ‘Mr Big’ in a little vintage number), still seems not to date. You can’t help but stop in your tracks and just stare at it. After all, this is what statement wedding dresses should be all about.

The city of Toulouse is affectionately known as ‘La Ville Rose’ (‘The Pink City’), which is the reason why the dress has a pink hue.

The gown has the ‘wow factor’ not only because of the colour, but due to the embroidered tiger lilies that have been cascaded over the skirt, torso and balloon sleeves.
