It would seem that green is the colour of choice for Catherine, Princess of Wales, when it comes to Wimbledon 2023. To watch the Women’s Singles Finals (Marketa Vondrousova against Ons Jabeur), the Princess of Wales chose a lime short sleeved jacket and pleated skirt by one of her favourite labels Self-Portrait.

For the second day of Wimbledon 2023, the Princess of Wales also opted for green. For this occasion, she chose a mint green blazer by Balmain, with a white pleated midi skirt, Gianvito Rossi shoes and a Mulberry handbag.

When it comes to Self-Portrait, the Princess of Wales has worn the label on several previous occasions. Catherine wore a white jacket and pleated skirt with black by Self-Portrait in June for the reopening of the National Portrait Gallery in London, which had been undergoing three-years of renovation work.

She teamed her look with a black clutch bag and black Aquazzura heels (Meghan Markle also loves Aquazzura).

In May, Princess Catherine wore Self-Portrait’s ‘Twisted Crepe Midi Dress’ to a pre-coronation reception at Buckingham Palace. In November 2022, she wore a black blazer Self-Portrait dress to the 2022 Festival of Remembrance. She wore the same outfit in cream to the Party At The Palace event for the late Queen Elizabeth 11’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June.

The Princess of Wales also wore the cream Self-Portrait blazer dress for a reception for the Hold Still Community project the year before. If you think Princess Catherine has only become a fan of Self-Portrait this year, think again. She wore a Self-Portrait white silk and lace dress by the label for the London premiere of A Street Cat Named Bob back in 2016.

It would also seem that the Princess of Wales’s daughter, Princess Charlotte has also developed a liking for the brand too. She wore a black and white dress by Self-Portrait to the concert held in celebration of King Charles’s coronation.

So, who is the designer behind Self-Portrait?

The designer behind Self-Portrait is Han Chong, who established Self-Portrait back in 2013. According to Self Portrait’s website, “A graduate of Central Saint Martins, the Malaysian-born designer unites a refined aesthetic with a deft understanding of structure and materials that has propelled the brand’s meteoric rise and upended the contemporary fashion market.”

In 2022, Vogue asked him the secrets of success. One of the questions that they asked him was the following: “There’s only five minutes to get ready-what to wear?” He replied by saying “Red lipstick, a silk top and Self-Portrait’s high waisted jeans with a heel.”
