When the likes of British Vogue Editor Edward Enninful, supermodel Naomi Campbell and influencer Addison Rae feel the need to comment on Instagram, it has to be pretty big news. However, it would seem that stylist Law Roach’s ‘retirement’ announcement has sent Hollywood and pretty much the celebrity world into a bit of a spin. (and that is putting it mildly).

Two days ago, Law Roach took to Instagram to say the following: “My cup is empty… Thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all.

"If this business was just about the clothes I would do for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win.. I’m out.”

Celebrities and the general public alike were quick to comment, and Law currently has 18,1618 comments, currently rising all the time. Addison Rae said: “WHAT?!” followed by a crying emoji. Edward Enninful, Editor of British Vogue said: “You will always have a home “ and then tagged British Vogue.

Without question, everyone is asking the question, why has Law Roach decided to retire now when he seemingly had the world at his feet? No sooner had he announced his retirement, he also seems to have relaunched his career as a model. He was seen modelling in Boss’s fashion show in Miami.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, the following question was put to him, “In your Instagram post, you used the word ‘retire, but we’re seeing tonight feels more like a transition?” Law’s response was as follows: “I’m not saying I’m retiring from fashion. I love fashion. I love the businesses and I love being creative. What I’m retiring from is the celebrity styling part of it.”

Before PeopleWorld takes the opportunity to look back at some of Law Roach’s best red carpet looks, I wouldn’t be surprised if Law Roach evolves from celebrity stylist to model and then designer. Vera Wang for example worked as a Senior Editor at Vogue before launching her own label in 1990 and Tory Burch worked in PR before starting her brand in 2004.

Law Roach’s best red carpet looks

Megan Thee Stallion at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar after-party

Megan Thee Stallion certainly made her presence known at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar after-party. Law styled her in an incredible Bach Mai strapless gown featuring a trumpet hen and lace bustier detailing. With her hair kept natural and a diamond choker necklace, the overall look was incredible.

Zendaya at the 2023 NAACP Awards

Law Roach nailed not one but two vintage looks for Zendaya at the 2023 NAACP Awards. She dazzled in a black Versace spring/summer 2002 dress with flashes of lime green before changing into a two piece Prada look from spring/summer 1993.

Ariana Grande at the 2020 Grammys

Layers upon layers of tulle, nobody could take their eyes off Ariana Grande as she arrived at the 2020 Grammys in what can only be described as a very dramatic grey gown by Giambattista Valli. Styled to perfection by Law Roach, Ariana also wore a pair of opera style gloves, which showed that she was ahead of the trend that is now dominating Hollywood.

Celine Dion at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards

If you want to ensure nobody can take your eyes off you, then without question, Law Roach was the stylist to achieve this. For the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, he chose a Stéphane Rolland white dress with a deep neckline and sculptured sleeves. Law Roach told the Hollywood Reporter that “Literally, if someone were to ask me to describe Celine if she was a gown, it would be that gown.”

Zendaya at the 2022 Emmy Awards

Who said black is boring? If truth be known, I am not normally a fan. However, Law once again showed his impeccable styling credentials by dressing Zendaya in a stunning black Valentino gown for the 74th Emmy Awards. Featuring a full skirt and peplum bodice, the look just oozed pure Hollywood glamour.
