Did Zendaya steal the show at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles?
Wow! That was my reaction when I saw Zendaya’s two incredible dresses for the 2023 NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles. Without question, Zendaya stole the limelight in a strapless vintage black Versace dress with a pop of lime green. She then changed later on in the evening into another vintage outfit, a stunning white Prada dress from Spring/Summer 1993.
Without question, Zendaya appears to have taken over from the Queen of Vintage herself, Kate Moss. Although vintage is becoming commonplace on the red carpet in the last few years, Zendaya, or rather her longtime stylist Law Roach, has become an expert at choosing the vintage looks that will command not just the fashion headlines, but all the headlines.

Zendaya shared a picture to her Instagram stories of the animated character Shego from the cartoon Kim Possible to show her and Law’s inspiration for her black and green Versace dress. Her vintage Versace gown was from the designer’s spring 2002 collection.
In recent years, Zendaya has undoubtedly become one of the best dressed A-list stars on the red carpet, thanks to her incredible vintage gowns and vintage inspired dresses. For the Emmys 2022, she dazzled in a strapless black ball gown that was custom-made for her by Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino.
Featuring a peplum bodice, the Valentino gown was inspired by the iconic Hollywood actress turned Princess, Grace Kelly, as well as a Valentino look that was worn by supermodel Linda Evangelista in 1997,

Although Zendaya did steal the limelight at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards, there were obviously some big winners at the ceremony, which honours outstanding representations and achievements of people of colour in motion pictures, television, music and literature in 2022.
Recipients of awards included Beyoncé who won for the Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Soul/R&B Song for Cuff It and Outstanding Album for Renaissance. Rihanna won for Outstanding Video/Visual Album for Lift Me Up, she also took the trophy for the Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation Album category for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
