Tesco and Lidl are recalling several food items from shelves due concerns over health and safety.

Some products have been recalled due to the presence of small pieces of metal, while some may have possible traces of salmonella and undeclared allergens, according to the Food Standards Agency.

Tesco is recalling Tesco Active Strawberry Flavoured Whey Protein and Tesco Active Chocolate Fudge Flavoured Whey Protein because they may contain small pieces of metal, making them unsafe to eat.

The recall applies to the following batches:

Tesco Active strawberry whey protein

  • Pack size: 500g
  • Batch code: 1049765 13 / 105067309 / 1050673 / 105067311
  • Best before: 31 May 2024 and 31 August 2024

Tesco Active chocolate fudge whey protein

  • Pack size: 500g
  • Batch code: 1049767 10 / 1049767 11
  • Best before: 31 May 2024

Lidl’s Select and Go Sushi Box Salmon and Shrimp

Lidl is pulling its Select and Go Sushi Box Salmon and Shrimp as the product contains a number of allergens not declared on its label. This includes crustaceans, fish, mustard, sesame, soya, egg, wheat (gluten), milk, and sulphites.

The product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy to the ingredients listed above. Those with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites may also experience health risks from the product.

  • Pack size: 330g
  • Use by: All use by dates up to and including 11 October 2022
  • Allergens: Crustaceans, fish, mustard, sesame, soya, egg, wheat (gluten), milk and sulphites.

P&B (Foods) Limited Heera Rewdi and Heera Sweet Makhana

P&B (Foods) Limited is recalling Heera Rewdi because of a failure to mention some allergens on the packaging

The product contains sesame and Heera Sweet Makhana because they contain sulphites. Neither allergens are mentioned on the label.

This could be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to sesame and/or a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.
