5. North West: The Church Inn, Mobberley
“Lovely country pub with surprisingly good food. We had the sharing platter and it was both interesting and tasty. Good availability of interesting beers/ales etc. We sat outside, there were two patios and it felt distanced and COVID safe. Lovely building with a nice setting hearing church bells from across the road.” Photo: The Church Inn
6. Northern Ireland: Tomney’s Bar, Dungannon
“Fantastic bar with friendly locals and staff, good conversation and great live music. It's not often I give 5 stars but this is the perfect bar. Spent a mid week evening chatting in the tiny bar, watching one of the locals doing magic tricks and having a great time! A hidden gem of a place.” Photo: Tomney’s Bar
7. North West Scotland: The Plockton Hotel, Highlands
“Lovely dinner out, with gorgeous views in the outside seating area. Meal was reasonably priced. Salt and pepper squid was excellent. Puddings were delicious too. Definitely recommend!!” Photo: The Plockton Hotel
8. North East Scotland: The Criterion, St Andrews
“Awesome restaurant and pub in downtown St Andrews. The restaurant is absolutely stunning, both on the interior and exterior, and the food and beer are superb. Plus, the service we received was excellent. Give this place a go.” Photo: The Criterion
