Waitrose recalls Deeside mineral water over fears bottles may contain glass fragments
A supermarket is recalling drinks as they may contain fragments of glass.
Waitrose has sent out the alert over two of its lines of mineral water.
The recall, which has been publicised by the Food Standards Agency, covers Waitrose No1 Deeside Mineral Water and Waitrose No1 Deeside Sparkling Water because, the FSA says “of the possible presence of glass fragments upon opening the bottles”.
It adds that this “may cause injury and makes it unsafe to drink”.

It affects the Waitrose No1 Deeside Mineral Water in 750ml bottles, with the batch codes NOV 2027 28. DEC 2027 01. DEC 2027 02. DEC 2027 10. DEC 2027 11. DEC 2027 16 and the best before of November 2027 and December 2027.
The sparkling version is also in a 750ml bottle, with batch codes of DEC 2027 01. DEC 2027 03. DEC 2027 12. DEC 2027 15. DEC 2027 25. These all have best before dates of December 2027.
Waitrose added: “We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.”
