A historic five-bedroom property, once owned by the former captain of Donald Trump’s superyacht, is now on the market for over £3 million.

Before the property was renovated the building had many uses, including the production of motor torpedo boats during World War Two.

Captain Richard Cuckson bought the property in 1987 - known as Britons Slip - and converted it into a home with panoramic views.

At the time he was in charge of the 281ft superyacht Nabila owned by Adnan Khashoggi, one of the richest men in the world.

Nabila, named after Khashoggi's daughter, was later sold to Donald and Ivana Trump in 1987, with Cuckson remaining the captain of the renamed Trump Princess, until 1989.

The house has been in current ownership since 2005 and is being sold through Jonathan Cunliffe estate agents.

The estate agents said: "Discerning purchasers with sailing interests at heart could not fail to be impressed by the spectacular waterside position with magnificent views across Falmouth's inner harbour and the considerable attraction of a private slipway with an 'L' shaped pontoon.

"In addition, there is a delightful heated indoor swimming pool, two good sized changing rooms and a charming enclosed Mediterranean style courtyard garden.”

The 4,000sqft site was also once an historic warehouse used by Packet Ships that made the town the second most important port in England in the 17th and 18th centuries, and, most recently, a sailing school.

The estate agents added: "The bedroom accommodation is at first floor garden level and comprises a main bedroom with dressing room and bathroom, together with three further bedrooms and second bathroom.

“A staircase leads down to the lower ground floor where there is a fifth bedroom or studio with doors and shutters opening above the water.

"It also has its own two bedroom apartment at lower ground floor level together with a studio and utility room accessed from the main house and a Mediterranean-style courtyard garden."

The detached house, on Falmouth’s inner harbour, also comes complete with a private pontoon and deep water access for marine enthusiasts and is situated between the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club and Prince of Wales Pier.

It is thought to be the only detached house in Falmouth, which has a private pontoon with deep water access.
