5. Cook healthy meals
A typical new year’s resoution for may is to lose weight, but rather than setting this broad goal with no clear focus it may a better idea to commit to cooking healthy meals on a regular basis, say three times a week. The more specific our goals are the more likely we are to achieve them. You could also say you’re going to drink 2 litres of water per day, if you want to be healthy in 2023.

6. Cut down your suagr intake
While we’re on the subject of food and healthy eating, which many of our resolutions are based around, rather than saying you are going to cut out a food group entirely just aim to cut it down. That way, by not depirving youself completely, you are more likely to stick to it. For example, you could cut down the amount of suagr you have in your tea or coffee or only have a sweet treat once a week.

7. Get outdoors more
A simple resolution would be to go outdoors more as being in the fresh air and walking will improve mental and physical health.

8. Try a new activity or hobby
This resolution is very simple as it can mean anything you want it to. Kelly Conway, Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach, suggests there are numerous things we could try, and doing an activity we enjoy will help our mental health too. She said: “Perhaps meditation. Writing a diary. Listening to a podcast. Colouring. Reading. Anything that nourishes your mind and relaxes your body will calm the nervous system and take us out of fight or flight.”
