The new additions were added to the list on Wednesday (30 June) and do not require travellers to quarantine on their return to the UK. However, all of the destinations, with the exception of Malta, have been placed on the government’s ‘watch list’, meaning they are at risk of being moved back onto the amber list at short notice. If you are planning a trip abroad, here are 12 new green list countries and islands you can travel to and their entry requirements for tourists.
9. Grenada
Fully vaccinated travellers will only need to quarantine for up to 48 hours, pending a negative PCR Covid test result administered on entry. All travellers must pre-book approved accommodation for quarantine on arrival, pre-pay for a Covid test, apply for a Pure Safe Travel Certificate and obtain a negative PCR test result within three days of travel. 10. Madeira
Travellers, except children aged 12 and under, must have proof of a negative Covid-19 test to enter and a traveller questionnaire must be completed. A PCR Covid test must be taken 72 hours before travel and the result uploaded to the questionnaire. Travellers must show their PCR test certificate or Covid-19 vaccination certificate on arrival. Those who cannot show either of these must remain in government provided accommodation until the results are known. If you have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 90 days, or have had both doses of the vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel, you will be exempt from showing a PCR test on entry. 11. Malta
All UK arrivals must present proof of Covid-19 vaccination to enter and only the NHS Covid Pass letter will be accepted, not the digital app or a printout of the digital app. Children aged 5 to 11 can travel if they are accompanying their vaccinated parents or guardians, and must show evidence of a negative PCR test, dated within 72 hours before arrival. Children aged 12 to 18 will only be able to travel if they have proof of full vaccination. Photo: Shutterstock
12. Turks and Caicos Islands
Travellers must obtain pre-travel authorisation via the Turks and Caicos Islands Assured Portal to visit. This requires evidence of a negative Covid-19 test taken less than five days prior to arrival, proof of travel insurance with Covid-19 cover and a completed health screening questionnaire. All visitors will be required to wear masks on arrival. Photo: Shutterstock
