The UK government’s latest travel update saw Portugal moved from the green to amber list amid concerns about rising Covid-19 cases, while destinations including the Spanish and Greek Islands, and Malta failed to be awarded green status. As such, there are currently 11 locations which UK holidaymakers can visit without facing quarantine restrictions on their return. Listed are all of the destinations on the green list and their entry requirements for tourists.
5. Gibraltar
Entry requirements depend on the countries visited in the 14 days prior to arrival. The UK is on Gibraltar’s green list, meaning travellers will need to take a Covid-19 lateral flow test 24 hours before arrival and, if you stay more than seven days, take a second test on day five. 6. Iceland
Non-essential travel by UK citizens to Iceland is only permitted if you are a resident in Iceland, or can adequately demonstrate you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or previously recovered from Covid-19 infection. All travellers must pre-register before arrival. Photo: Shutterstock
7. Israel and Jerusalem
UK travellers must present a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival and must complete an inbound passenger statement within 24 hours prior to travel. Foeign nationals must have an entry permit and those who were vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 outside of Israel must enter isolation. Photo: Shutterstock
8. New Zealand
Anyone entering New Zealand, except from a quarantine-free travel bubble currently arranged with Australia and the Cook islands, must undergo quarantine or managed isolation in an approved facility for a minimum of 14 days. Arrivals must then test negative for Covid-19 before entering the community. Photo: Shutterstock
