Today would mark JFK's 106th birthday as was born on May 29 in 1917. The American politician served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963 while on a visit in Dallas.

Kennedy was in a vehicle with his wife, Jackie, Texas Governor John Connally, and Connally’s wife, Nellie, when he was fatally shot from the nearby Texas School Book Depository. While Lee Harvey Oswald, a former US Marine, was the only one found to be behind the assassination by the FBI before they shut the case, many people still believe he did not act alone.

The case has long been of interest to the general public, even 60 years after the fatal day, with many conspiracy theories surrounding the situation posted online; One of which involves actor Woody Harrelson’s father Charles who recently made headlines regarding the paternity of one Matthew McConaughey,

Charles Harrelson was a hitman, who most infamously carried out the first-ever murder of a sitting federal judge in the United States. Woody has spoken openly about the fact that he did not have a close relationship with his father, and by the time he was seven, Charles was on trial for the murder of Alan Harry Berg. However, Charles was acquitted in 1970.

Charles was later tried for the 1968 murder of Sam Degelia, for which he was reportedly paid $2,000 and was jailed in 1973. Despite his 15-year sentence, Harrelson was released for good behaviour after five years.

In a previous interview with The Guardian, Woody Harrelson spoke about the reality of his father’s absence and said he wasn’t aware until he was 11 or 12. He said: “I was listening to the radio and it was talking about Charles V Harrelson and his trial for murder and blah blah blah blah and I’m sitting there thinking there can’t be another Charles V Harrelson. I mean, that’s my dad! It was a wild realisation.”

However, following his release Charles Harrelson made headlines for claiming to be involved with the murder of John F. Kennedy. He made the claim in September of 1980 during a six-hour standoff with police after he assassinated US District Judge John H.

While many dismissed this as false, Jim Marrs, a prominent JFK conspiracy theorist, said that Harrelson resembled one of three men, known as the “three tramps,” that were spotted near the building that Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK from. However, these claims have never been proven to be true.
