Why is BTS star Jimin in London, as the ‘King of iTunes’ sparks collaboration rumours on social media?

Eagle eyed K-Pop fans may have spotted photos across social media earlier today showing the new ‘King of iTunes’, BTS member Jimin, arriving at Incheon Airport overnight as he makes his way to London. But that brings up two questions - one from K-Pop fans, eagerly awaiting two members of BTS to complete military service and another from casual fans who might have a passing knowledge of the South Korean pop star.

Well - to answer the K-Pop fans, Jimin’s arrival in London all boils down to his role as a Dior global ambassador. The 27-year-old will be on hand in the capital for a fashion show for the fashion house, but that has not done anything to dispel a raft of rumours that the solo artist, currently dominating the iTunes chart once again with all three of his singles, might also be in London for some collaborative efforts.

That boils down to sightings of Tommy Brown also being in the capital; pictures floating on social media have shown both Jimin and Tommy Brown to be standing next to each other sparking rumours that the BTS star might be on course for a collaboration with an artist Tommy Brown is closely affiliated with.

Who could that be? Take your pick - Brown’s production works in the past have included working with Selena Gomez, the artist formerly known as The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and fellow crossover K-Pop group BLACKPINK. Interesting to note, however, is that Brown’s production credits are dominated by a musician who happens to be in the UK filming the big-screen adaptation of Wicked - Ariana Grande. Also interesting to note is that Brown produced a BLACKPINK song that featured US recording artist Cardi B.

So could Tommy Brown be the bridge between US musicians and K-Pop artists du jour and could Jimin also be secretly collaborating with the producer on an Ariana Grande track? Let the speculation commence!
