A 75-year-old man was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital, but died on Tuesday.

Police are still investigating and Sgt Tim Davies said: “Unfortunately the man has now sadly passed away in hospital. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. I am re-appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the incident, to get in touch with any information. We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Domino’s Pizza store around the time of the incident or those who have captured dash cam footage.

“No matter how insignificant you think the information is, it could still support our ongoing investigation.”

Anyone who saw the collision or the vehicle travelling in the area can report information online, speak to an operator in Hertfordshire Police’s Force Communications Room via our online web chat at web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 331 of 10 June, 2024. Anyone with dash cam footage can upload to the police here.
