Who is Amelia Dimoldenberg? 'Chicken Shop' journalist who is red carpet host at the BRITS

Amelia Dimoldenberg may not be a household name just yet, but she is certainly hot news right now. The 29 year old is returning to red carpet host at the BRITs for a second year.

At the star studded event, the YouTube star will be hosting the red carpet event and will also be backstage. Amelia, who shot to fame thanks to her Chicken Shop YouTube series, has now launched Chicken Shop Date merchandise ranges.

Amelia is renowned for her distinctive interview technique and she is set to talk to stars on the red carpet in her inimitable style. Although Amelia is reportedly currently single, that hasn't stopped fans wanting her to potentially 'date' stars she has interviewed such as footballer Jesse Lingard

One A-list star who she was spotted getting flirty with was Andrew Garfield on the Golden Globes’ red carpet.

The Spiderman actor was nominated for his role in the limited series ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’ and was up against Sebastian Stan, Taron Egerton, Colin Firth and Evan Peters, with the latter claiming the trophy for his depiction of Jeffrey Dahmer.

However, the golden moment for Garfield fans was not part of the ceremony but came before on the red carpet when he took part in an electric interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg, the official red carpet host of the evening.

With the interview now gaining over six million views on Twitter, fans commented about the ongoing chemistry between the pair who reunited after first meeting at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, when they first shared their admiration for one another.

People replied to Amelia’s tweet saying, ‘is this…the best rom com of the year?’, ‘that should be me,’ and ‘I am obsessed with this in every way.’

Andrew and Amelia laughed their way through the conversation speaking about their star signs in the two minute clip, as well as suggesting Andrew was ‘obsessed’ with the Chicken Shop Date host.

As Andrew approached Amelia he said: “I only ever want to see you…in these kind of sort of situations…”

Amelia replied that she was going to invite him to her birthday party at the end of January before Andrew quipped: “I don’t think we should explore this…I’m scared of what this could turn into.”

Amelia is a 28-year-old journalist, Youtuber and comedian who rose to prominence through her two series ‘Chicken Shop Dates’ and ‘Cooking With Amelia’, and is most commonly known as ‘Amelia Dimz’.

While the show has taken flight on Youtube with stars such as Jack Harlow, Ed Sheeran, Maya Jama and Daniel Kaluuya being interviewed in fried chicken restaurants, Chicken Shop Dates started out as a column for the youth magazine, The Cut.

Amelia obtained a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from Central Saint Martins, London before going on to get a BA in Fashion Communication from the same university.

Following her graduation, Amelia went on to write for The Guardian and Vogue, create Channel 4 and Vice Media documentaries as well as appear on television shows Celebrity Come Dine With Me and The Big Narstie Show.

Known for her deadpan delivery and dry comedy, Amelia has generated nearly two million subscribers on Youtube and garnered more attention when she briefly dated rapper Aitch.

The pair seemed to connect during his appearance on Chicken Shop Dates and made their relationship ‘Instagram official’ in early 2022, before sharing several of their dates on social media.

However, some were convinced that their relationship was a PR stunt as the couple went quiet and seemingly went their separate ways after a few months.
