It seems that in 2023, when life gives you Apple, you get a brand new product category in the form of a mixed reality headset called Vision Pro.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook appeared at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2023 to unveil the long-awaited headset as well as numerous hardware and software updates and talk about the hotly debated artificial intelligence.

When revealing the first new Apple product in nearly a decade, Tim told the audience: “It's the first Apple product you look through and not at.”

In addition to the Vision Pro being a ‘spatial computer’ that can be controlled through detecting movement of the user’s hands, eyes and voice, they can also use Apple apps such as ‘notes’ or Facetime with Bluetooth accessories.

This is the fourth product category Tim Cook has created since becoming Apple’s CEO after Steve Job’s death in 2011 with the likes of Apple Watch, Airpods and the M1 Chip being sold.

How much is Tim Cook worth?

Since joining Apple 25 years ago, Tim Cook has doubled the company's revenue and profit and managed to raise the market value to $1.9 trillion.

Tim Cook’s personal wealth echoes the gigantic growth of the technology company as he not only serves as Apple’s CEO but also sits on the board for the likes of Nike and the National Football Foundation.

Tim was first declared a billionaire in 2020 when his net worth was estimated at $1.5 billion which has now grown to $1.9, according to Forbes.

As well as his $3.4 million base salary as Apple’s CEO, with opportunities of bonuses worth between $8-$12 million, Tim owns more than 3 million shares in the company - a crazy jump from his original Apple salary when he first joined in 1998 at $500,000 a year.

However, it must be noted that Tim vowed to donate his entire fortune to charity and has sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of shares over the years.
