Catherine, Princess of Wales and Katie Price are making the news for a dazzling banquet appearance and continuing domestic woes

Before you think it is the 'tale of the two Katies' today, let me correct you in your assumption. First of all, despite the fact that everybody seems to refer to Catherine, Princess of Wales as Kate Middleton (a pet hate of mine), she is in fact not a Katie, nor a Kate, but a Catherine!

Whenever Prince William, the Prince of Wales, refers to Catherine in public, it’s always Catherine, and not Kate. Before I move on to the reason why Catherine, Princess of Wales is top of our hot list today, I first of all have to clear up one other thing.

Katie Price’s first name may have been shortened to Katie, but she is neither a Catherine or a Katherine, but a Katrina! So now you know!

Now back to the important business. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has to be top of our hot list today as she looked simply spectacular at the State Banquet, held in honour of the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa. The banquet was of marked importance for a number of reasons, it was the first state banquet of King Charles’s reign, the first state banquet since 2019, and the first banquet that Catherine wore her first tiara as Princess of Wales.

From the world of royalty to the world of pop. Miley Cyrus deserves to be on People World’s hot list as she celebrates her 30th birthday today.. Wow, this woman has certainly packed a tremendous amount into her thirty years.

The American singer, songwriter and actress has been in the industry since she was nine years old and first made a name for herself as the iconic Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart on the Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana. She is also known for being one of the world’s most powerful LGBTQ + activists, so her achievements can not be underestimated.

Last up is Hugh Grant. Confession time. I was obsessed with Hugh Grant back in the day, with his floppy hairstyle. I have to admit however that I didn’t rate him much as an actor but actually changed my opinion when he starred as politician Jeremy Thorpe in ‘A Very English Scandal.’ He was simply outstanding in the TV drama.

However, that is not the reason why I have included Hugh as a ‘hot’ today. No, this is to do with his role as Prime Minister in ‘Love Actually,’ which celebrates its 20th anniversary next January.

To mark the occasion, Hugh is joining up with the likes of co-stars Emma Thompson and Bill Nighy for an ABC TV holiday special with Diane Sawyer next week. Well, if I need an excuse to include Hugh Grant, here it is!

Now onto the ‘not so hot’ list. Poor Katie Price. Believe it or not, I used to have a lot of respect for Katie, and in some ways, I still do. Back in the late 1990s, she became the ‘face’ of glamour modelling and became renowned as her then pseudonym ‘Jordan.’

Although Katie is the subject of much mockery now, she was a very successful businesswoman in her day and at one point was worth £45 million. Unfortunately, in recent years it has gone from bad to worse for her.

The reason she makes our ‘not hot’ list today is because she is enduring more problems after police were reportedly called to her home over a ‘domestic’ incident between her and boyfriend Carl Woods. The couple have now split amid alleged cheating claims.

Poor Katie! I am honestly really rooting for her. I know she is not renowned for being the ‘model mother,’ but she has brought up her now grown up son Harvey Price who has a number of serious medical conditions (including the rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome), single- handedly. And for that, I believe she should be applauded.

Next up is Tulisa from N-Dubz or rather it should be all of the band. Fans were naturally livid after the band cancelled their concert in Nottingham with only minutes to go. The band did apologise after saying that singer Dappy had been advised by doctors not to perform. However, surely they could have given their fans a little more notice?

Last up today is Matt Hancock. Oh come on, you knew it was only a matter of time before he once again featured in our ‘not so hot’ list. He belted out the Queen classic ‘I Want to Break Free’ during a karaoke session and this clearly should not have been allowed!

If his singing wasn’t bad enough, a watchdog has also revealed that he also broke rules by appearing on the ITV show. Although Lord Pickles advised ministers that taking action against him would be disproportionate, Matt Hancock still seems to be more than in a ‘spot of trouble’ over this.
