Cheltenham Festival 2023: Camilla Queen Consort arrives in elegant outfit for Ladies Day

It’s Ladies Day at the Cheltenham festival, a tradition that dates back to the 1700s. We will see women flock to the Prestbury Park racecourse wearing their most stylish and elegant outfits. We can expect to see bright colours, statement headdresses and lots of glamour. 

Royals and celebrities including Camilla, Queen Consort, along with other royals such as Princess Anne and Zara Tindall, plus TV show celebrities Georgia Toffolo and Carol Vorderman are all regular attendees of the event.

The day will become a catwalk for those attending. Donning their best dresses and elaborate hats and fascinators, as everyone knows when it comes to hair accessories for race days bigger is always better. 

The dress code for the Cheltenham Festival has been relaxed this year after an extensive review to make the sport more inclusive for spectators. On the website it states: "Officially there is no dress code at Cheltenham. The Festival takes place in March and that means weather can impact the outfit choices of visitors." They also recommend guests prepare for all types of weather as it can change quickly.  

Queen Consort, Camilla, was seen arriving in a mix of soft camel tones. She wore a brown midi-skirt with a cream shirt underneath her fitted camel coloured coat with a silver horse brooch. She also wore a toffee suede hat with fur brim and beige suede boots. She finished the outfit with a dark brown leather handbag and gloves.

Zara Tindall and husband Mike Tindall were at the event for a second day. She wore a teal coat by Rebecca Vallance and matching fascinator.

Made in Chelsea star, Georgia Toffolo wore a brown and beige hounds tooth two piece outfit from fashion designer Emilia Wickstead. She also had a large hat from Jane Taylor, a brand that has seen the likes of the Duchess of Edinburgh and Zara Tindall wear to special events. 

Despite the relaxed dress code, racegoers didn’t hold back when it came to showcasing their boldest outfits. 'Neon brights' were definitely the theme of the day with bold highlight-colours and feathered headpieces spotted all over the racecourse. One guest wore a yellow and purple two-toned blazer dress with knee-high purple boots, elaborate purple headdress and large sunglasses.
