Following Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey and the book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan, the former Suits actress’ half-sister Samantha Markle sued for ‘defamation and humiliation' in January of this year, and would possibly come face to face with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a Florida court.

Samantha, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair, claimed that Meghan made “demonstrably false and malicious statements” to “roughly 50 million people in 17 countries” citing Meghan’s comments about being raised as an only child.

However United States District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell dismissed Samantha’s claims from the book, making her decision as Samantha could not be sure how much input Meghan had in the writing process.

While Judge Honeywell also ruled in favour of Meghan in terms of the interview’s quotes, she said that Samantha had two weeks to amend her complaint.
