Una Healy has announced she “wasn’t in a throuple” following rumours she shared a three-way relationship with former heavyweight champion David Haye and model Sian Osborne.
The Saturdays star, 41, said she has been “trolled to death” after images surfaced of the trio on holiday in Morocco at the beginning of 2023, and has now claimed she was only in a casual relationship with Haye and she “wasn’t romantic” with Osborne.
This is everything you need to know.
What did Una Healy say about the 'throuple' rumours?
Healy told Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally on their podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me: “I did meet [Osborne], really nice girl, I didn’t get to know her very well, it wasn’t a throuple.”
She continued: “The T word, I had to google it myself because I’d never heard it, I was like what is this. Why am I being called this name that I have never heard of, I don’t know what it is.”
Healy explained she first met Haye on a dating app last summer, where he said he had just broken up with his girlfriend but confirmed he doesn’t “believe that the traditional relationship exists anymore”.
She described herself as a “monogamous person” and knew Haye wasn’t “husband material” but following her divorce to Ben Foden said she was having a “bit of fun” and agreed it was a casual relationship. Healy said Haye had requested she meet Osborne as the pair were “very special” to him and Healy said she “wasn’t fond of the idea” but thought being pictured together as a trio would ensure people didn’t believe Haye was cheating on Osborne with her.
She described Haye as being both of their boyfriends until she returned to Ireland in January when she “unsubscribed” to the relationship with Haye, re-iterating that Osborne was “not my girlfriend”.
“I really enjoyed my relationship with him, he is actually a really nice guy, he was very kind to me, very honest, but it run it’s course and I have been single every since,” she said. “I don’t want to be part of a three-way relationship.”
The Irish singer said she feels “relieved” to share her side of the story, saying: “I’m actually getting to say the truth from the horse’s mouth, it’s not rumours, it’s the truth.”
She added: “I’m a monogamous person, hopefully I will settle down again one day with a nice monogamous man.”
Why did people think David Haye, Una Healy and Sian Osborne were in a throuple?
Rumours first started about the trio being in a throuple after Haye shared a picture of the three of them posing in a pool together on 1 January 2023 on Instagram, along with the caption: “If a picture says a thousand words, then this one says exactly what it needs to.”
Haye added: “I’m starting Jan first with the correct energy, surrounding myself with understanding beautiful human beings, who do not judge, but instead accept me for my authentic self.”
On 4 January, Healy also shared a post on Instagram of herself, Haye and Osborne holding hands and having dinner together, alongside the caption: “I’ve started 2023 in a comfortable place, feeling genuinely happy and at peace. Here’s to this year being ours.”
Haye has been in a relationship with Osborne since 2021. According to The Sun, the couple used the celebrity dating app Raya to find a third partner.
A source told The Sun: “David and Sian created a profile on Raya to find the perfect partner to enter their relationship.”
They went on to explain: “David and Sian were very much in this arrangement together and after being together for two years decided to open their relationship up. The profile was under David’s name and there were photographs of him and Sian together and glamorous photographs of her from around the world.
“As part of their profile they said they were ‘seeing what’s out there,’ and said they wanted to try ‘new experiences’ They spoke to a few people before being introduced to Una and they hit it off immediately.”
What did David Haye say about the relationship?
Haye was questioned about his relationship status while in Manchester attending the sold out fight between Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Smith in January earlier this year.
Speaking in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, he said: “I like to keep my private life, private.”
He continued: “I let people in through my social media a little bit, but what I do behind closed doors is between me and the girls involved.”
Haye added: “So yeah, I don’t really want to go into all that.”
What did they post on Instagram on Valentine’s Day?
Amid rumours of being in a throuple with Haye and Osborne, Healy shared a Valentine’s Day card which looked like it referenced a relationship between three people. The card, shared on her Instagram story, was that of a cartoon glass of orange juice and two halves of the orange, with three cartoon faces, which read: “I’d be nothing without you. Squeeze the day!”
Haye also shared a picture on his own Instagram account that also appeared to support the rumour that the three were in a relationship together.
He posted a series of pictures himself, Healy and Osborne, with the caption: “Happy Valentine’s Day to the beautiful Queens in my life, making my world a better place to live in!”
