Kids across the UK will be getting excited as in a week’s time not only will school’s break up for the Easter holidays but the search will be on for chocolate eggs scattered around the garden left behind by the Easter Bunny.

The giddy excitement will stretch as far as the royal kids including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who will have time off from school with their parents the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Some families may choose to stay at home for the two to three weeks of holiday but others such as Kate Middleton and Prince William most likely will head off on vacation.

While the world may be the family’s oyster to choose a holiday we can all be jealous of, wherever the family decides to go must fulfil one requirement - it allows for a bunch of outdoor activities.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “The three children are incredibly sporty and, of course, their parents are too. The focus will very much be on outdoor pursuits, with swimming, fishing, walking, riding and sailing.”

Therefore, PeopleWorld have taken a look at some of their favourite holiday destinations over the years:

Courchevel

Prince William and Kate Middleton may take a leaf out of last year’s book as the family were spotted skiing the slopes of Courchevel this time in 2022.

The French destination, known as the World’s Ski Capital, holds a special place in the family’s hearts as it was here that Prince William and Kate took George and Charlotte for their first holiday as a four in 2016.

Skiing holidays are also steeped in regal history as William and Kate announced their relationship while on holiday in Klosters - the Swiss resort that is the favourite to William’s father King Charles who has two ski lifts named after him.

Mustique

Dubbed as the ‘Queen of Mustique’ by the British press, one can often find Kate and William on holiday on the private Caribbean island.

The family have celebrated many of Prince George’s birthdays on 22 July in the tropical location, attended a 50th anniversary party for one of the local establishments with Mick Jagger and most recently visited the Villa Antilles in 2019 before the pandemic.

The love of Mustique may have been passed down from Prince William’s relative Princess Margaret who frequented her villa Les Jolies Eaux every February and November until her death.

Tresco, Isles of Scilly

Even the next in line to the throne enjoys a humble staycation with Prince William taking his family to the island of Tresco off the coast of Cornwall for the past two summers where they have been seen cycling around the car-free streets.

The summer holidays are reminiscent of those shared by William and his brother Harry who spent time away in Tresco in 1989 with their parents Princess Diana and the now-King Charles.

Although a staycation seems simple enough, the island will in fact one day be owned by Prince William when King Charles is crowned as monarch due to it being a part of the Duchy of Cornwall.

Anmer Hall, Norfolk

Besides the sunny islands of Mustique and the snowy slopes of Courchevel, William and Kate tend to get away to their country estate Anmer Hall which is located in Norfolk.

The ten-bedroom home was given to Prince William and Kate as a wedding present from the late Queen Elizabeth in 2011 and in addition to spending breaks at the home, the couple try to go there at weekends.

Following a £1.5 million renovation to the property, Prince William described Anmer Hall as ‘very peaceful’.

Balmoral Castle

Ingrid Seward commented that the Wales family like to spend some time with their extended family up in Balmoral Castle for a few weeks in the summer.

Queen Victoria famously called Balmoral ‘a paradise in the highlands’ and it has grown to be a cherished spot for the Royal Family.

The 50,000-acre estate allows for many outdoor activities which is a definite plus for the active family.
