Who is Elon Musk in a relationship with? A look at the Twitter CEO’s dating history from Amber Heard to Grimes

Since Elon Musk took over Twitter in October 2022, the Tesla CEO has cut about 80% of the social media staff and turned the platform on its head with new guidelines, resulting in turbulent relationships with both his professional colleagues and millions of Twitter users themselves.

In a rare live interview with the BBC on 12 April, Elon Musk told the broadcaster that the job was ‘not fun at all’ and could sometimes be ‘painful’ but he did what he had to do to stop the social media from going bankrupt.

To cover costs, Elon Musk not only fired around 8,500 employees but also scrapped free lunch meals for staff members at the San Francisco headquarters and implemented a fee if users wanted the blue tick on their profile.

Millions of users, including celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Whoopi Goldberg and even Elon’s ex-partner Amber Heard decided to ‘jump ship’ and leave Twitter as a result. 

In light of this, PeopleWorld takes a look at Elon Musk’s personal and romantic relationships as his professional links continue to feel the pressure:

Justine Musk

Justine Musk nee Wilson was Elon’s first wife who tied the knot with the tech wizard in 2000 before going on to have a set of twins namely Griffin and Vivian in 2004 and triplets in 2006 called Kai, Saxon and Damian. 

Justine and Elon also welcomed a baby boy called Nevada two years into their marriage but sadly lost him to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome at 10 weeks old.

After eight years of marriage, Justine and Elon split with the former revealing Elon thought of her as a ‘starter wife’.

Talulah Riley

Shortly after the divorce papers were filed between Justine and Elon, the Twitter boss got engaged to English actress Talulah Riley who has been in productions such as St Trinian’s and Pride and Prejudice.

Initially the pair were married in 2010, before they split for the first time in 2014. 18 months later, Talulah and Elon reconciled for two years before the English actress filed for divorce again.

Amber Heard

With divorce still very prominent in Elon Musk’s rear-view mirror, he started a relationship with newly divorced Amber Heard, who too had just split from her husband, Johnny Depp.

With very intense schedules, Amber and Elon were only together for a year despite speculations that Elon fathered Amber’s daughter, but the Tesla founder admitted to the break up being very hard as he was ‘in love’.

Grimes

Elon had an on-off relationship with Canadian singer Grimes who he made his first red carpet debut with in 2018 at the Met Gala.

The couple reportedly met when they made a similar joke online about artificial intelligence, states Page Six, and ended up welcoming two children (X Æ A-XII and Exa Dark Sideræl Musk) before finally splitting in December 2021.

Shivon Zilis

Although Nick Cannon has become a father to 12 children, Elon Musk has welcomed seven into the world, with his newest children born in November 2021.

The mother was confirmed to be Shivon Zilis, the director of operations and special projects at Musk’s Neuralink company in July 2022.
