Kylie Jenner has launched her first ever mascara for her Kylie Cosmetics brand and fans are going crazy over it.
The volumising eyelash mascara is aptly named ‘Kylash’. The mascara according to the website will give you “lifted, defined, and fuller lashes.” It will give you “volume, length and [will] hold the curl.” It is cruelty free and Vegan friendly.
The beauty mogul explained in an Instagram video that she is a ‘mascara girl’ and the reason she took time on creating this product and changed the formula ‘like a million times' was because she wanted it to ‘look good on everyone’.
Fans on TikTok have been so impressed with the product and it’s getting rave reviews. One person wrote “Looks like I have lash extensions!” and another described it as “Perfection.”
It has been compared to Maybelline’s best selling mascara ‘Sky High Mascara’ and looks suspiciously similar. Both have opted for a shade of pink packaging and embossed the name on the side but the wands do look very different. Kylash will set you back £23 compared to Maybelline's bargain buy at just £11.99.
Compared to other celebrity brands, Kylie’s is pretty similar in price. Rihanna’s beauty brand Fenty and Selena Gomez who owns Rare Beauty both have volumizing mascaras at £23. But it’s the reviews from beauty influencers that has pushed Kylie’s product to the top of the ‘must have’ product wish list.
The youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan launched her beauty empire Kylie Cosmetics in 2014 and her first product ‘The Kylie Lip Kit’ in 2015. The first line of products were a liquid lipstick and matching lip liner in a range of colours.
Over the years, the beauty influencer has released more products including bronzers, blushers, highlighters, eyeshadows and eyebrow kits. She has even got the rest of her family involved with successful collaborations with sister Kendall for the ‘Kendall & Kylie’ range and momager Kris Jenner for the ‘Kris’ product line. She has also done joint collabs with older sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney.
Since the global success of her makeup range, Kylie has launched a skin range and a beauty product line specifically for babies.
In 2018, Forbes Magazine named Kylie the ‘soon to be’ youngest ever ‘self-made billionaire’ and she was reportedly worth $900 million at the time of the cover story. However, the publication went back on this after theyreportedly discovered previous financial information provided by Kris and Kylie was actually false.
The reality star’s net worth is an estimated $750 million and the second richest of her siblings, Kim Kardashian being first with estimated $1.2 billion. After building her beauty company, Kylie sold over 51 percent to beauty company Coty Inc that also owns CoverGirl and Max Factor in 2019 for $600 million. Kylie Cosmetics was valued at the time Coty bought the shares at $1.2 billion.
