Former RAF gunner Marc McAulay who became a gay pornstar nominated for nine awards at industry’s ‘Oscars’

A former RAF gunner turned gay pornstar has been shortlisted for nine awards at what he describes as the industry’s “Oscars”.

The Grabby Awards are being held next month, and Marc McAulay, from Edinburgh, is hoping that his success here would be able to propel his career into the porn world of Los Angeles.

Previously, the 29-year-old was shortlisted for five Prowler Awards, which covers all of Europe, but the competition was delayed due to the pandemic, and has since been paired with America.

The chairman of the Grabby Awards also reached out to Marc to let him know that he is the most nominated gay porn star in the world in 2021.

‘I’m up for more awards than anyone else’

Speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News, Marc said: “I’m up for more awards than anyone else and I’m buzzing about that.

“It’s unbelievable and amazing, I’m so glad I have the support from the RAF, my family, fans and my pornstar partner.”

Marc is up for awards in categories like Newcomer of the Year, Fansite Performer of the Year, European Pornstar of the Year and Best Original Web Content.

Fans can vote for Marc through the Grabby Awards website up until 1 May, with the virtual awards taking place on 29 May.

With the RAF for five years

Marc joined the RAF in 2014, and says that he was a gunner in the RAF Regiment, which means that he specialised in infantry tactics, weaponry and force protection as part of an elite soldier team with duties such as defending RAF bases and overseas air operations.

He was with the RAF Regiment for nearly five years, and he remains an RAF reservist whilst he pursues his career as an adult performer. Marc says that the air force has been very supportive of his career choices.

A spokesperson for the RAF said: “As long as our personnel do not bring the RAF into disrepute, what they do in their private life is not a matter for the service.”

‘They love the accent’

In 2008, Marc was a runner up in a competition called Mr Gay UK, and believes that this is what helped him get into the industry, alongside his work as an underwear model.

His first audition for form took place in London around four years ago, and since then Marc has been performing on screen about once a month for a variety of adult film companies. Marc has described the industry as safe and that actors must sign each other’s paperwork to get regular blood and urine tests done privately.

Marc has said that being a Scottish professional porn star is popular with people in the US and Asia as they “love the accent”, and that most of the men he works with are either European or English.

He says that he earns between £30,000 and £40,000 per year as an adult film star, and earns some of his money through subscriptions from an adult blogging platform called ‘Justforfans’.
