Geri Horner’s star-studded 50th birthday party was set to take place this weekend, but she has cancelled it out of respect for Her Majesty.
The former Spice Girl turned 50-years-old on 6 August, and had planned an extravagant party at the Oxfordshire mansion which she shares with Formula One husband Christian.

However, after the sad death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, 8 September, the UK is now in a period of mourning - with sports matches and fashion week being cancelled.

Geri has subsequently made the respectful decision to cancel her own private party, which was due to fall just days before The Queen’s state funeral on Monday, 19 September.
The royalist paid tribute to Her Majesty following the announcement of her death.
She described the late monarch as the “epitome of dignity and elegance” to her 1.2 million Instagram followers.

On Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, a tribute from Ginger Spice was broadcast during the Party At The Palace celebrations.
In the touching speech she said: “Our Queen, kind, loving, strong, serving our country, the Commonwealth, uniting us all together.
