Supermodel Gigi Hadid has reportedly been released from custody in the Cayman Islands after being arrested at Owens Roberts International Airport for marijuana possession. E! News has reported that “According to a local outlet Cayman Mari Road, shortly after Hadid and her pal arrived via a private plane, custom officials allegedly found “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” in their luggage.”

E! News reported that a rep for the supermodel told them that “Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally In NYC with a medical licence. They went on to say that “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

Gigi Hadid and a friend travelled to the Cayman Islands on July 10, 2023  and reportedly formally charged two days later on July 12, 2023. The pair pleaded guilty and were said to be fined $1000 dollars but escaped conviction on their records. 

Gigi Hadid shares a daughter Khai with former One Direction star Zayn Malik. Although she normally likes to keep her family life as private as possible, she did share a photograph of her holding her two year old’s hand recently on Instagram

The caption for Gigi’s Instagram post about her daughter was “Some stuff I thought about posting the last few months but forgot lol sorry ly part 2.” Comments included “I can’t wait to see how Khai has grown up, I know she’ll be so beautiful like her mom @gigihadid whilst another one said: “Love you,” followed by a heart emoji. 

Gigi Hadid’s sister Bella Hadid also commented on the post and said: “The best mom in the world.”
