Is Hailey Bieber following in Selena Gomez’s footsteps with new cooking YouTube series?

If you thought the ‘tensions’ were all over between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez, think again! Or perhaps it is fans of Selena Gomez that are cooking up the drama this time?

The minute Hailey Bieber launched her own YouTube cooking series titled, What’s In My Kitchen?’ Selena fans are already saying she is copying her. According to the New York Post, “It’s a move that got some critics fired up, harking comparisons to Gomez’s HBO show “Selena + Chef” and calling Bieber a culinary copycat. The article goes on to post a tweet from one user that says: “Hailey really needs to stop copying Selena and she should focus on herself.”

So, what is Hailey’s new cooking series all about and has it already aired?

The first episode aired on Wednesday where fans were treated to Hailey sharing a chicken wing recipe. I of course took the time to watch it myself and here is my verdict on it!

If I am being honest and I am sure this will count for many of you watching it, I was more focused on her hair, which lipstick she might be wearing, her cute cropped top, but more importantly, her kitchen, and even more specifically her marble worktops. However, that might just be me!

Now back to cooking…

It is great that Hailey has all the ingredients ready, and of course as every chef or anyone who cooks will know, preparation is key. However, I need to know more exact measurements, I am certainly not a cook as you go. After she left the chicken wings marinating in the fridge for an hour, exact measurements were added to the video for the rest of the recipe, but I would rather have known these earlier on.

It’s great that she gave a shout out to the place in LA that she found her eggs, but I don’t think this necessarily enhanced the video, rather than an obvious big PR boost for the lady who owns the shop! Also, if I am being honest, I was not too impressed with the way she goes about beating her eggs. I am not exactly a pro myself but it didn’t look like she makes scrambled eggs on a daily basis.

On a plus side, she does provide a step by step to the chicken wing recipe, which is of course useful. However, if truth be known, I don’t think I will be subscribing any time soon. This is not to say that I don’t think there will be a Hailey Bieber cookbook anytime soon as I 100% wholeheartedly think there will be. Watch this space. 

One thing I have to give Hailey praise for is for tasting chicken wings so daintily and without getting one smidgen on her face! She is obviously well practised in that. And of course, as expected, her chicken wings were very warmly received by her guests. Unfortunately, Justin didn’t appear in this video, but hopefully he will make a guest appearance in a future episode.
