As the 96-hour oxygen levels reportedly run out on board the Oceangate submarine after it went missing earlier this week during an underwater expedition to see the Titanic shipwreck, forces are ramping up their search and rescue mission to recover the vessel and the passengers on board.

It was revealed that British billionaire Hamish Harding is one of those missing on the submersible alongside Oceangate CEO Stockton Rush, Paul Henri-Nargeolet,Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman.

The tourists began their descent to 12,500 ft on 18 June and when the vessel failed to appear for its scheduled surface time at 8pm BST, the US Coast Guard was made aware of the missing sub two hours later.

While forces are continuing their search and rescue mission on Thursday, Hamish Harding’s family has spoken out saying Oceangate took ‘far too long’ to raise an alarm and should have reported problems at least eight hours before.

The Action Aviation chairman’s cousin Kathleen Cosnett criticised the operating company suggesting they could have acted as early as 9.45am local time (2.45pm BST) when the Titan lost contact with the surface ship.

Kathleen said: “It’s very frightening. [It] took so long for them to get going to rescue [them]. It’s far too long. I would have thought three hours would be the bare minimum.”

Adding on to Kathleen’s concerns was Hamish’s godson Robert Evans who said the family was informed late on Sunday night that the sub had lost contact, and they promptly started to phone ‘the UK Coastguard and Foreign Office.'

Robert, who is also a godfather to Hamish’s eldest son, added: “We are very close – Hamish, his two sons and I. To me, Hamish is an incredible man…But I’ve known him since I was a kid – he took me on adventures, skiing, scuba diving, and to Machu Picchu. He was just incredibly good to me.

“He’s been like a father to me. A second father you could say. We are all still remaining hopeful. We are still in the middle of the rescue.”

As Hamish’s cousin and godson voice their concerns to The Telegraph, PeopleWorld takes a look at the other members of the British adventurer’s family including his wife, children and step-son.

While Hamish tends to document his adventures on social media, Linda remains out of the spotlight online so not much is known about the mum-of-four.

Linda and Hamish share two sons together called Rory and Giles while Linda welcomed a daughter called Lauren and a son called Brian before tying the knot with the adventurer.

The family of four have been spotted on a couple of occasions such as when Hamish was awarded another Guinness World Record for flying around the world. Giles also has a joint Instagram account with his father called Giles Explores.

Who is Hamish Harding's step-son Brian?

Aforementioned, Linda favours staying off of social media which was touched upon by Hamish’s step-son Brian when he was one of the first to confirm the billionaire was missing on the submarine.

Brian Szasz posted to Facebook: “Thoughts and prayers for my stepfather Hamish Harding as his submarine has gone missing exploring the Titanic…For privacy, my [mum] asked me to delete all related posts, thanks for the support.”

Brian may have made headlines initially for sharing the news that Hamish was on board the Titan, but he was then faced with criticism for attending a Blink-182 concert the day after the Oceangate vessel disappeared.

Hamish’s step-son responded: “It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the Blink-182 show as it's my favourite band and music helps me in difficult times!"
