Kate Middleton’s brother James Middleton has announced his wife is pregnant: a look at their relationship

James Middleton has announced that he and his wife Alizée Thevenet are expecting their first child together. The younger brother of Catherine, Princess of Wales and Pippa Matthews (Middleton) shared the happy news on his social media. 

James, 36, shared two stunning pictures of his financier wife wearing a green dress with a blossoming bump, their dog Mabel and a picturesque countryside backdrop. He wrote the caption “We couldn’t be more excited … well Mable might be. It was a very difficult start to the year after losing my beloved Ella, however, we will end the year with the most precious little addition to our growing family.”

Earlier in the year James lost his beloved spaniel Ella at the age of 15. He has previously said that Ella helped him overcome his mental health battles. 

James and Alizée's baby will be  Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - and a niece or nephew of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Pippa also has three children Arthur, Grace and Rose with her husband James Matthews who is the brother of Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews. The newborn will be Carole and Michael Middleton's seventh grandchild. 

How did James Middleton meet Alizée Thevenet?

The couple reportedly met in 2018 In an article James wrote for The Telegraph he explained how it was all thanks to Ella that he met Alizée. Whilst at the South Kensington Club, Ella ‘made a beeline for Alizée.’ The embarrassed entrepreneur went over to apologise and recalled how his now wife presumed he was a ‘waiter’ and ordered a drink whilst she continued to pet Ella. 

When did James Middleton meet Alizée Thevenet get married? 

They began dating and James proposed a year after they met. Due to Covid, the couple had to delay their nuptials but finally tied the knot in Bormes-les-Mimosas in Provence in 2021. James shared a picture of the newlyweds on his Instagram with the caption: "Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village or Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am."

Who is Alizée Thevenet?

Alizée was born in France and works as a financial analyst for the Treasury Spring company. She has a Master's degree in Investment and Finance from Queen Mary University of London. The mum-to-be can also speak three languages: Spanish and English as well as her native French.
