Don’t you dare tell me Joan Collins shouldn’t wear leopard print at 90. I am also not in the mood for anyone who says nobody wants to see a ninety year old in a swimming costume because I defy anyone to make 90 look as good as Joan Collins!
Last week in London, she was spotted out for dinner with husband Percy Gibson, 58, looking utterly glamorous in a leopard print dress. The couple have been married since 2002 and wed at Claridge’s hotel. Joan, as expected, looked incredibly chic in a gown by designer Nolan Miller who created dresses for her when she starred in the iconic show, Dynasty.

Hide AdAlthough Joan Collins has been married four times before she wed Percy, Joan has always said that Percy is her ‘true soulmate’ and her ‘forever husband.’ Joan first wed at the age of 19 to Maxwell Reed (he was 31 and she was 17 when they originally met). Her second husband was singer-songwriter Antony Newley, the couple had two children, Tara, and Alexander, known as Sacha.
Joan’s third husband was Roland S.Kass and the couple had a daughter together, Katy. Joan married for the fourth time to Scandinavian singer Peter Holm before splitting with him in 1987.
Joan reportedly met Percy Gibson in 2000 when he managed a theatre production she was in. When she appeared on Loose Women six years ago, she said that Percy was most definitely the ‘love of her life.’ “He is just so wonderful, kind and giving. He has bonded our family together,” she said.
When Joan Collins celebrated her 83rd birthday back in 2016, she revealed some of her beauty secrets to Good Housekeeping. “As soon as I wake-up, even before I get my coffee I immediately put oil on my face,” she revealed. “Then, if I’m going to stay in, I will put on moisturiser three or four times during the day and I won't wear any make-up-except lipstick. If I’m going out I wash my face with water and sometimes put ice-packs on if I have a late night.”

Hide AdOne thing that I have in common with Joan Collins (and no, it is not our ages!), is that we both admire stars from yesteryear. She admires the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner and Vivien Leigh (I have always been obsessed with Vivien).
You only need to ask my colleagues here at PeopleWorld that any chance I have to write about the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, I will! Although there are without question many glamorous A-list stars in Hollywood today, in my humble opinion, none of them come close to the movie stars of the 1950s and 1960s.
It’s also interesting that Joan also extols the virtues of growing up when she did in an era of austerity. She also told Good Housekeeping that “We were given cod liver oil every day and had to eat our greens. It’s sad for me to see older women getting heavy and losing their joie de vivre.”
So, now you know it, forget the burger and chips tonight, stock up on cod liver oil (as I add it to my basket!) and green vegetables if you want to look as good as Joan Collins does at 90.
