As Kate Middleton wowed in Ukraine-inspired Jenny Packham Eurovision dress, a look at her love for the label

I, along with millions of Eurovision viewers, was not expecting the Princess of Wales to open the Eurovision final from Windsor Castle. However, we were treated to a surprise appearance by her as she performed a piano tribute to Ukraine by playing alongside last year’s winners, the Kalush Orchestra. 

The Princess of Wales chose an appropriate blue Jenny Packham dress, in honour of Ukraine. This is not the first time Kate Middleton has chosen to wear Jenny Packham and the designer has become somewhat of a favourite of the Princess of Wales. 

At the time of writing, the exact Jenny Packham dress Kate wore for the Eurovision final has not yet been confirmed, but it does look very similar to the ‘Marlowe one-shoulder crystal embellished draped chiffon dress by the designer that is available to buy from NET-A-PORTER at £2940. At present, all sizes (aside from size 18 which has low stock) are sold out. 

At the recent Buckingham Palace lunch, Kate looked incredibly elegant in a chic Jenny Packham dress with contrast black detailing around the waist and neckline. It was very ‘Kate,’ as in low-key but stylish, however I was most impressed with her Aquazzura heels. However, if you thought these shoes look very familiar from a royal point of view you would be correct!

Kate Middleton is not the only fan of Aquazzura as Meghan Markle has worn their shoes on many occasions such as for her first solo royal engagement, where she wore the ‘Deneuve’ heels. Meghan also chose the Matilde heels for her engagement photocall, and then wore white Aquazzura shoes for her wedding reception. 

Now back to Kate Middleton and Jenny Packham. I am personally a HUGE fan of Jenny Packham as her dresses are so glamorous, but at the same time have a timeless quality to them. One of my favourite Kate Middleton Jenny Packham dresses she has worn is the gown she wore to the No Time To Die premiere in 2021. The dress was covered in gold sequins and featured a floor-length cape.

As well as wearing Jenny Packham for evening occasions, Kate also chose to wear the designer when she made her first public appearances after giving birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. 

Another of my all-time favourite Kate Middleton/Jenny Packham dresses is the one she chose to wear to ARK (Absolute Return for Kid) 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner in 2011. It was pale pink in colour and again covered in embellishments, this time silver ones. 

Now back to Kate’s Eurovision Jenny Packham dress. The Prince and Princess of Wales shared the ‘Eurovision surprise’ on their Instagram and wrote: “A pleasure to join @Kalush.official in a special performance of last year’s winning eurovision entry.”

Fans were quick to show their support on Instagram. One said: “Not the queen but she is a QUEEEN” whilst Holly Willoughby herself said: “Well this is incredible,” followed by a heart emoji.
