Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson spark rumours of reconciliation: A timeline of their rocky relationship

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have sparked rumours that they could be getting back together, as they were spotted partying side by side at Khloé’s best friends Malika Haqq and Khadijah Shaye Haqq’s 40th birthday party. 

The Kardashian star, 38, also shared a social media post wishing her ex-fiancé, 32, Happy Birthday and wrote that he was the 'best father, brother & uncle.' But fans have slammed the influencer for praising her ex after his past behaviour. Tristan is father to a one-year-old son Theo who he shares with fitness model Maralee Nichols. The basketball player has reportedly never met his son.

In the Instagram post, Khloé added: 'My birthday wish for you is that you continue to crave change, healing, and transformation. Be strong, be kind, be patient, be free.' Could this be a sign that if he ‘changes’ and is ‘patient’ Khloé may take him back? 

Relationship Timeline

The former couple certainly have had a tumultuous relationship since first getting together in 2016. They sparked dating rumours after being spotted leaving a nightclub at the same time. Soon after the pair made their first public appearance as a couple at Flo Rida’s birthday party. 

In 2017, Khloé and Tristan announced that they were expecting their first child together after sharing a sweet snap on Instagram. Only a few weeks before the reality star was due to give birth, images of the basketball player appearing to kiss another woman in New York City Club were released in the press. A few weeks later, TMZ shared a video of him kissing and touching two other women. 

In June 2018, the couple appeared to put the cheating allegations behind them and were seen kissing whilst on a romantic holiday, confirming they were an item. Only a few months later, reports surfaced that Tristan and Kylie Jenner’s BFF Jordyn Woods had been seen getting close on a night out together, forcing Khloé to end their relationship once and for all. 

The couple spent the following Christmas together with Khloé sharing cute family pictures on her Instagram, but sources close to the influencer confirmed they were not getting back together and were happy co-parenting their daughter, True. 

Celebrating Khloé’s birthday in October 2020, the pair sparked rumours that they were getting back together after she shared a picture of Tristan kissing her on the cheek. Privately, the couple decided to start their surrogacy journey. 

The Good American co- founder threw a lavish party to celebrate the NBA star's 30th birthday in March 2021 and the couple went public confirming they were officially back together. This was the night after Tristan flew back to Cleveland and met up with model Maralee and their son was conceived. When the news broke of this further infidelity, the pair split once again. 

Initially, Tristan denied that he was the father to Marlee’s baby boy but a DNA test proved he was the child's biological father. Tristan released a statement on Instagram publicly apologising to Khloé. 

It was the news that no one was expecting, but in August 2022 Khloé shocked fans by announcing that she had welcomed a baby boy with her ex partner via surrogate. The pair weren’t in a relationship but would continue to co-parent their two children. 

The following month, in an episode of season two The Kardashians, Khloé revealed that in December 2019 Tristan had proposed but she had turned him down. He then proposed again in February 2021 and the couple were engaged for nine months before the news of his infidelity with Maralee broke. 

Khloé supported her ex in January 2023 after his mother Andrea sadly passed away. A source told US Weekly that Khloé has ‘no intention of getting back together’ with her ex and will be there to help care for his younger brother Amari. In a tribute to his mother, Tristan shared a post on Instagram apologising for the ‘wrong decisions’ he had made in the past. 

After the pair were spotted celebrating Khloé’s BFF’S birthday party and gushing over her ‘baby daddy’ in a social media post, it seems the couple may be heading for reconciliation.

Fans are already speculating that they will have a third child together. Whatever happens, it would appear that the couple's relationship is not done and dusted just yet.
