As well as seeing Usher perform in Vegas for her birthday, Kim Kardashian was witness to her friend and hairstylist Chris Appleton tying the knot with White Lotus actor Lukas Gage over the weekend.

While the usual rule applies ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,’ reports started to come to light this morning that the couple who looked loved up at the Daily Front Row LA Fashion Awards on Sunday had actually got married with only six guests at the ceremony.

The alleged wedding took place after Chris and Lukas obtained a licence from Clark County and saw Kim Kardashian reportedly attend alongside Chris’ two children Billy, 19, and Kitty-Blu, 17, who he had with previous partner salon owner Katie Katon.

Chris and Lukas are the latest stars to say ‘I do’ in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas following the likes of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.

The White Lotus star and A-List hair stylist made their relationship public only last month when they shared pictures from their holiday in Mexico, so as the couple start their married life, PeopleWorld takes a look at Leicester-born Chris Appleton in a bit more detail:

Born in June 1983 in Leicester, Chris grew up with his sister and parents and knew he had a passion for hairdressing at the age of nine after styling his mum’s hair.

He told Grazia magazine that his mum’s expression and confidence after her hair had been styled was what spurred him on to pursue it as a career: “I realised I had this ability to make people feel really good, like emotional medicine…making people look good, but really making them feel good. When you can do both is when the magic happens.”

After landing a job in a hair salon at the age of 13, earning a degree in hair colouring and being awarded BBC Young Hairdresser of the Year, Chris moved to London to focus on working in magazine editorial.

Working with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss and Rita Ora on X Factor, Chris continued his momentum on the other side of the pond in December 2016 styling Christina Aguilera’s hair on The Voice before getting jobs with Katy Perry, Adele and Jennifer Lopez.

While Chris’ fame really took off when he became close with Kim Kardashian, Chris is also responsible for creating Ariana Grande’s signature high ponytail look.

In addition to hair styling, Chris is signed with IMG models and entertainment agency WME and often posts on social media to his three million Instagram followers.

Before Chris came out as gay, he was in a relationship with salon owner Katie Katon and the pair share two children.

Chris revealed during an 2019 interview with Kim Kardashian that he was only comfortable sharing his sexuality journey with the world after he got approval from his children saying: “It was really important to me that the kids…understood and were in a good place. It was just time. Everybody has their story and mine was later on.”

Since then, Chris has revealed he is ‘very happy’ and ‘very much in love’ with now-potential husband Lukas Gage, who too has spoken about his love for the British hair stylist, as the pair share a furry baby - a Siberian Husky called Dash (seemingly close to Kar-DASH-ian, huh?)
