Kim Kardashian 'soccer mom' tour may have cursed the teams she was watching - just like Drake and Spike Lee
and live on Freeview channel 276
Kim Kardashian has been visiting some of the biggest football teams in Europe on her ‘Soccer Mom’ tour. The SKIMMS founder is rumoured to be filming a secret documentary whilst on her whistle stop tour. The family have been enjoying the VIP treatment, as well as receiving personal FaceTime calls from some of the players, including Bukayo Saka and Neymar, while meeting Kylian Mbappé.
But the influencer has been slammed by sports fans after the teams she has watched were both defeated. Last week, Kim watched Arsenal get knocked out of the Europa League to Sporting Lisbon after losing out on penalties.
On her next stop in Paris where Kim was spotted wearing a black oversized trench coat the family watched Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) lose 2-0 to Rennes. The team had not lost a game at Parc des Princes in 715 days. Fans took to social media and claimed the ‘Kardashian curse’ had struck again.
But Kim isn’t the only celebrity that has been as a bad omen whilst watching some of the biggest sports teams in the world. These are the celebrities that you don’t want to see in the stands at your favourite sports game.
Canadian rapper Drake is well known for his successful music career but amongst sports fans he is known for being ‘cursed’. During his 2019 European Tour, the rapper took selfies with players from Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Manchester United and PSG. All teams suffered huge setbacks shortly after the selfies were taken. He is also said to have jinxed boxer Conor McGregor and Tennis star Serena Williams in the past.
Film director Spike Lee is one of the biggest New York Knicks fans in the world. His seat is courtside and directly opposite the Knicks’ bench. The director has cheered and booed his team over the past 30 years but the 1994 NBA playoffs was the most famous interaction as he argued with player Reggie Miller.
It was reported that Spike was kicked out of the game for being a distraction and was told to stay away for the rest of the season. However, he was eventually allowed back in. Then, in 2020, he said he was “done” with attending Knicks games after a disagreement with security guards over the VIP entrance, but he has since returned.
Kim’s sisters, Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, have also been told by fans not to attend the sports games of their boyfriends so the team can avoid any bad luck they may bring. When Khloe was married to basketball player Lamar Odar she was blamed for derailing his career.
Kendall, although she tries to keep most relationships private, does have a thing for sports players especially basketball players. The model has been seen courtside watching her now exes Devin Booker, Kyle Kuzma, Ben Simmons, Blake Griffin and Jordan Clarkson - all had bad performances whilst Kendall was watching or dating them.
Rock star Sir Mick Jagger has also got a name for himself for being a bit of bad luck at games. After watching England get defeated against Argentina in the World Cup 1998 Euros, the singer had even more bad luck at the 2010 World Cup. Three of the teams he was supporting, Brazil, England and the USA were all knocked out of the competition when he was present at the matches.
