Our editor, Marina, is taking a well-deserved break today so I've stepped into the hot seat to take you through our hot and not selections from the team at People World.

It seems the ambitions of Kim Kardashian, reality TV star and business mogul, are not dampened by a bit of family controversy as she went to a thanksgiving meal at a juvenile detention centre alongside the man who had cheated on her younger sister, Khloé.

Yes, that’s right! Kim doesn’t let a bit of sisterly heartache stand in the way of raising awareness for one of her huge passions – rehabilitating offenders back into society.

She’s our top pick for hot today as she uses her huge platform to shine a light on social change. She spent Thanksgiving having a meal at Camp Kilpatrick in Los Angeles, California, alongside former NBA player Tristan Thompson who cheated on Khloé multiple times, including a dalliance that resulted in a child.

Some have said online that Kim’s Instagram post detailing the detention centre visit with Thompson is a strange choice of companion. We think this makes Kim a hot for today as it shows she can put aside personal matters for the greater good.

Our next hot pick is Stormzy, as he’s released his new album ‘This is What I Mean’ with 12 new songs. He’s been praised for his range and versatility as his songs are released on Spotify today (November 25th).

He shared his vulnerabilities in an open letter to fans where he said he can feel naked at times and worries he is being ‘naïve’ when he shares things with the world. We applaud his honesty and many will be able to relate to his fears of over-sharing, especially in our social media age.

Our last hot for today is Ronaldo. He’s been a controversial figure of late with his loose talk of being unhappy at Manchester United and his eventual exit ‘by mutual agreement’ of the club. We think the fact he’s scored goals in five world cups, and is the first man to do so, makes him a worthy addition to our hots.

It was Thanksgiving yesterday, November 24th, in the US and legendary singer Mariah Carey treated us to a performance. However, she’s the first on our not list for today as she lip-synced her way through the Thanksgiving Day parade, which is six years after her disastrous New year gig which was panned by critics.

She may have looked in her element as she donned a crown and wore a shocking pink gown, but her vocals were the most shocking of all. Mariah, you’re a singing legend, so why can’t we hear your actual voice? She’s not the first to fail at lip syncing along to her own songs, but she should have learned from past dodgy miming. Fans called her out for not even trying to hide it, so maybe she’s just glad to be there.

Chris Moyles is officially less popular than Matt Hancock, a fact he found even more difficult to digest than the rice and beans he’s been living on for the last few weeks. Moyles was voted out of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! During last night’s show (November 24th). We were getting fed up of him anyway. He wasn’t bringing much joy to camp. The fact Hancock is still surviving is further proof that the public takes a perverse joy in seeing someone as unpopular go through bushtucker trial after bushtucker trial.

Our final not is David Walliams. Yes, we’ve had him before for making comments to audience members and we’re having him again today as he is reportedly finished with being a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. His time was up. He can go off and write more children’s books, which are hugely successful.

And he can leave innocent audience members in peace. He's the latest in a long-line to exit the talent TV programme and the cracks in the highly formulaic show have been on display for a while.
