As a ‘self-made’ billionaire Kylie Jenner can afford many things, however a cost she may have not expected was not only to be overtaken on Instagram as the most followed female but also losing an estimated one million followers after a supposed rift with Selena Gomez.
The ‘Come and Get It’ singer dethroned the Kylie Cosmetics mogul on 23 February 2023, surpassing Kylie’s 379 million followers with her 381 million (now 390 million).

Selena’s fans have continually highlighted a potential feud between herself and Justin Bieber’s wife due to their shared relationship history, however in light of Kylie Jenner seemingly joining in on the feud by making a ‘derogatory comment’ about Selena, the beauty influencer has now paid the price.
According to SocialBlade.com, Kylie has reportedly now lost around one million followers following her quip at Selena on her story, while social media users have also claimed that certain celebrities may have unfollowed Hailey Bieber.
The TikTok videos come on Justin Bieber’s birthday, with users alleging that celebrities such as Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus and Jenna Ortega may have unfollowed Hailey Bieber in light of her story with Kylie.

James Charles
Another beauty influencer who suffered the wrath of fans after an alleged feud became public was James Charles, who had three million people unfollow him in 2020.
James’ veteran beauty guru Tati Westbrook posted a video on YouTube explaining why she had ‘beef’ with James, prompting millions to unfollow.

Hide AdThe Pauls, both Jake and Logan, have had their fair share of controversial moments online including filming in Aokigahara Forest in Japan, posting racist Tweets and creating a cryptocurrency game that is facing fraud allegations.
The actions have alienated a large portion of their fan base, and despite Logan seemingly gaining back some popularity due to his in-demand Prime drinks with KSI, the Youtuber-turned-WWE fighter lost thousands of followers over the years.
Nicki Minaj
The Super Bass singer faced some super bad repercussions on social media after she posed on the front cover of Harper’s Bazaar Russia in 2018.
Although Nicki would be under intense scrutiny for the magazine cover more now in light of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, the VMA winner faced backlash in 2018 as her fans pointed out Russia’s anti-LGBTQ+ stances and how much of her fanbase were a part of that community.
