Duchess of Sussex will reportedly relaunch blog as  trademark documents are ‘being examined’

It was the popular lifestyle blog that Meghan Markle described as her “passion project” but after getting engaged to Prince Harry in 2017 she decided to shut it down. Now after a six year hiatus it looks as thought the successful site may return.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s popularity has been slowly dwindling of late so it seems there’s no better time for Meghan, 41, to relaunch her lifestyle blog The Tig.

The Sun reported that the website is “under examination” by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO). The office is said to have rejected her claim last year after the description of the blog was too broad but that has now since been corrected with help from her lawyer Danielle Weiss.

If the application is approved the name would belong to Meghan and will see her cover areas of travel, interior design, food, health, wellness and relationships. Insiders claim the Duchess wants to rival the success Gwyneth Paltrow has had with her wellness website Goop.

This could mean we may see the mother of two dishing out parenting advice, cooking her favourite meals at home, showcasing her effortlessly stylish outfits or even giving relationship and family advice - even if she's not on best terms with the in-laws.

Meghan launched the website in 2014 when she was starring in the legal TV series Suits. It was named Tig after her favourite red wine Tiganello, and what the wine represented. On the official 'about page' the Duchess described the first time she tasted the wine and how it gave her a 'Tig moment'.

Despite having minimal wine knowledge she said: “It wasn’t just red or white—suddenly I understood what people meant by the body, legs, and structure of wine. It was an aha moment at its finest. For me, it became a ‘Tig’ moment—a moment of getting it. From that point on, any new awareness, any new discovery or ‘Ohhhhh, I get it!’ moment was a ‘Tig’ moment.”
