Meghan Markle may have thought that not attending the coronation and staying at home in Montecito for her son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday would mean that she wouldn’t dominate the headlines, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The day after the coronation, she was photographed hiking with Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak, who seem to be the ‘friends’ that she can rely on these days.

Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh and a former friend of Meghan’s has claimed that she was ghosted by the Duchess of Sussex after she met Prince Harry. Millie revealed on the Mumlemmas podcast that she met Meghan at a hotel event in Turkey and reportedly ‘gave her all of her contacts’ when the Duchess moved to London. 

According to the Daily Mail, “Millie added that she and Meghan met up in the capital and she shared her favourite hotspots, but things changed when rumours swirled that she and Harry were dating. She added that she sent Meghan a message offering her well-wishes, but was surprised to receive an ‘abrupt’ response.”

After feeling upset by her response, Millie decided not to reach out to the Duchess of Sussex again and they haven’t spoken since. “I never heard from her again. I felt like she’d basically told me to f**k off in that message. So I did. And we haven’t spoken again.”

As well as Millie Mackintosh, Meghan Markle is no longer friends with Jessica Mulroney who was recently in London just before the coronation. When it comes to her ‘friendship’ with Oprah Winfrey, the pair have enjoyed a close relationship over the years.

When Oprah Winfrey was asked by her good friend Gayle King on CBS Morning if she thought Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should attend the coronation (before it was revealed that Prince Harry would be attending alone), she said: “I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family. That’s what I think.”

She also spoke to Gayle King about how she didn’t set out to do a bombshell interview with Meghan and Harry in 2021. “I was surprised by the bombshell as everybody else,” she said. “I was doing an interview to offer them a platform to tell their story about why they left, and that was my number one intention was just clarity on ‘Why did you leave?’”

Although it was speculated that Meghan Markle was snubbed by Oprah Winfrey as she did not attend her birthday party, the ‘party’ in question was not for Oprah, but was a 25th anniversary party for the beauty brand Anastasia Beverly Hills, it just happened to be on the same weekend as Oprah’s birthday. Oprah was seen rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kim Kardashian there.

Despite being Montecito neighbours at one point, Oprah reportedly sold her house off-market in a deal that was said to be $14.3 million. As for her other Montecito neighbour, Ellen DeGeneres, Meghan Markle seems to still be able to count on her as a friend as she and Prince Harry were in attendance in February at her surprise wedding vows renewal to Portia de Rossi that was officiated by Kris Jenner. 

Another friend that Meghan Markle seems to be able to count on is Serena Williams. As well as attending the wedding of Meghan Markle to Prince Harry, she also appeared on their Netflix docuseries, ‘Harry & Meghan.’ Meghan also recently signed to WME and will be represented by Ari Emanuel alongside Brad Slater and Jill Smoller, who is Serena Williams’ long time agent.

Meghan’s hiking companions were Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak, who also seem to be good friends of the Duchess of Sussex. Markus who has been dubbed the ‘King of Soho House’ as he is a consultant for the private members house, is believed to have introduced Meghan to Harry. Heather Dorak, who owns six Pilates Platinum studios is said to have been a good friend of Meghan’s for years. Heather also contributed to Meghan’s blog, The Tig, before it closed down. 

In 2021, Heather Dorak shared an Instagram post where she said “it’s hard for me to watch her go through all that she has to as the Meghan the press can love to hate… Mostly because it’s so far from Meghan that I know. Sweet. Kind. Always showing up!”
