Although the invitations for the coronation have reportedly not even been sent out, the coronation itself seems to be rather overshadowed by whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend or not. At present, the couple are reportedly still undecided on whether they will come as Prince Harry is said to be keen to have talks with his brother and father before making a decision.

If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do decide to attend the coronation, they will not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony with other members of the Royal family and Prince Harry will not have any special role in the coronation.

There is also the possibility that Prince Harry may attend the coronation alone and Meghan Markle stays in the States with their children as Archie celebrates his birthday on the same day of the coronation. If Prince Harry does attend solo, it is likely that it will be a very short visit before he returns home to Montecito.

On his third birthday last year, members of the royal family took to social media to wish him a happy birthday publicly. On Kate Middleton and Prince William’s official Instagram, The Prince and Princess of Wales, a message said: “Wishing Archie a very happy 3rd Birthday today.”

The photograph they shared was from Archie’s christening, featuring King Charles, Camilla, Queen Consort, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, and Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes (the late Princess Diana’s sisters and Prince Harry’s aunts).

The official Buckingham Palace Twitter account also marked the occasion last year by sharing a photograph of Meghan holding Archie as a baby with the late Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh (joined by Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and Prince Harry) looking adoringly at Archie.

King Charles (then the Prince of Wales), also shared a black and white photograph on their official Instagram Story of Charles standing alongside Harry holding baby Archie.

As Archie’s fourth birthday falls on the same day as the momentous occasion of the King’s coronation, it will be interesting to see how the royal family marks it this year.
