Mum-of-two given two months to live needs to raise £50k for potentially life-saving cancer treatment

A single mum-of-two is facing a race against time to raise £50,000 for potentially life-saving cancer treatment – after she was given just two months to live.

Lauren Olive, 28, was diagnosed with stage three triple negative breast cancer in November 2019 and has been fighting ever since.

‘Race against time’

The mum from Worcestershire said: “I’m in a race to find out exactly what treatment I can have.

“I’m trying to get to Mexico as there’s a clinic which turn stage four cancer around with cannabis treatments and other alternative therapies.”

On 23 June, she was dealt a devastating blow when doctors said the cancer had spread to her bones and she was told she had just two months to live.

She hopes to pay for alternative treatments at a groundbreaking oncology clinic based in the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana.

Lauren, who is mum to daughter Penny, seven, and four-year-old Arthur, has already raised £28,000 in a matter of days and admits it is her last chance of beating cancer.

She said: “I had to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction and that was all done individually because of Covid restrictions last summer.

“On June 23, I had a CT scan and the results confirmed there was a more rapid spread [of the cancer].

“There had been a reduction on my liver of 77 per cent and on my spine and sternum and breasts but a rapid spread on the bones.

“Then two days later my mum attended an oncology appointment as I couldn’t face it and my mum received my two months prognosis.

“I’m devastated and want to save my life so I can spend more time with my kids.”

Lauren launched a JustGiving page, which has already raised more than £28,000.

‘There’s enough money in this world for me to keep being a mum’

Writing on her Facebook page, the mum made a heart breaking plea for help to raise money for the lifesaving treatment.

She wrote: “I need lifesaving treatment for incurable metastatic triple negative cancer which had spread rapidly.

“We intend to treat me in Mexico in two weeks. I need to start the course immediately as we have a two-month prognosis. Please share this with every contact in your contact book.

“This is a matter of urgency, please do not ignore this.

“We shouldn't be arranging funerals for a 28-year-old single mum because money couldn't be raised to save her life.”

“There’s enough money in this world to ensure I can be a mum to Penny and Arthur, I’ve exhausted myself trying to find alternatives and supplements, etc.

Lauren began feeling fatigued in late 2018 but put her symptoms down to going through a divorce, having just split from her husband and looking after her two children.

But after discovering a pea-sized lump on her breast she fought doctors for ten months after they dismissed it and prescribed her antibiotics.

She also suffered from persistent tonsillitis and began to break out with vitiligo - an autoimmune disease that causes patchy skin colour.

Last November she was finally diagnosed triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma cancer and would probably not survive 12 months.

The Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico practices a pioneering treatment for late stage cancer patients called Metabolic Therapy.

The treatment includes an intravenous drip of vitamins, with massive doses of vitamin C, minerals and other compounds, daily injections of a substance called laetrile (vitamin B17) and pancreatic enzymes - plus coffee enemas.

‘Help me if you can’

She added: “I’m telling you all I can feel my body giving up. I feel like I’m dying now and have felt this way for a week. Help me if you can.

“I will actually pay back every dime because my story will be a success, I’ve written four chapters so far.

“Please, I am desperate. I don’t want anyone else to be the comforting arms for my children telling them mummy’s dead. Please help save my life.

“I’m doing all I can 24/7. Share this please, I would. We are desperate.”
